Original text:
I visited the Dongting, but I didn't see you. There were flocks of egrets on the sand.
Egrets walk and fly away, like snow spots on green hills and white clouds.
If you want to go to Jingxi, you will see the tiger turn its eyes.
Rhododendrons have stopped in spring and go fishing in Lingyang in the evening.
Translation of works:
I came to visit the East Pavilion in Jingxi, but I didn't see you. There are flocks of egrets on the beach.
Egrets suddenly flew away, like snowflakes dotted with green hills and white clouds.
I came all the way to Jingxi, and the waves and eddies in Longmen are like the eyes of a tiger.
Rhododendrons are blooming on the mountain, and spring is coming to an end. I'm going back to Lingyang Beach to catch fish.
Creative background:
In the late spring of the 14th year of Tianbao (755), Li Bai traveled to Taohuatan and went to yangshan along Shu Xi. Youlong Gate passed by here and wrote "Letter from Jingxi East Pavilion to Zheng Shaofu".
Li Bai's poetic creation has a strong subjective color, which is mainly manifested in his emphasis on expressing heroism and passionate feelings, and rarely describing objective things and specific time in detail. Free and easy temperament, independent personality, and strong emotions that are easy to touch and erupt form the distinctive features of Li Bai's lyric style.
