No real murderer was found. Is a suspenseful story will end with no answer.
The murderer has long and soft hands, and every time he kills someone on a rainy night he goes to the radio station and orders postcards of the same hand song, etc., but the movie ends with him not being able to convict him because his DNA doesn't match the semen left on the clothes of the last victim.
In fact, the murderer, knowing that the police were already suspicious of him, took the risk of setting up a trap to exonerate himself in a desperate, last-ditch attempt under police surveillance. The semen on the little girl was not actually the murderer's, but he left someone else's semen at the crime scene on purpose.
