Many people try to get into the showbiz industry by all means, but Zhang Koyi had no trouble and the opportunity came straight to her, and surprisingly, she went in and out three times consecutively, a peculiar experience that is considered rare among people.
The starting point for Zhang Koyi's entry into the industry was not low, and the first time she shot a movie was to act in the Tsui Hark-directed "Heroic III Song of the Setting Sun," with Chow Yun-Fat, Tony Leung Ka-Fai, Anita Mui, the three biggest stars, the opportunity is still good. But the intense pace of work in the movie made the free-spirited Zhang Koyi feel uncomfortable, so she fled as soon as the movie was finished.
Shortly afterward, she was picked up by a record company, which formed her into a band with three other girls called the Peanut Girls and released a record. But just when everything was on the right track, the boss cheated them out of the money they had earned by appearing on stage and shut down the company, which made Zhang Koyi feel that the entertainment industry was not a good place to stay. But really to do their own futures brokerage, she has more or less a little attachment to the entertainment industry, so she took the initiative to participate in the "Miss Hong Kong" contest, and ultimately held the title of "the most acting potential" award for the third time into the entertainment industry. She was born with a beautiful face and was destined to be an actress.
In the early days of her contract with TVB, she took on the role of Cheng Ying, the disciple of Huang Yushu, in "The Divine Eagles", and then played the rebellious rich girl Ye Xiaobing in "Men of Heaven and Earth", two roles that were very different from each other, but which she managed to pull off with aplomb, attracting everyone's attention. She then played Gu Qing Hua, the first love of gambling king Yu Zhen Hai (played by Zheng Shaoqiu), who was later killed by Feng Jing Yao (played by Pan Zhiwen), in the remake of the classic drama "New Shanghai Tang".
This role was not in the original drama, and she worked with Cheng Shaoqiu, Cheng Yu Ling and Poon Chi Man, who are recognized as good actors. Zhang Koyi was sandwiched between them without pressure, and she played a weak woman who was strong in nature but as thin as a sheet of paper, and her performance was relaxed and vibrant.
After several years of hard work, Zhang Koyi has become one of TVB's leading ladies, playing the role of vengeful Eve Au Hok Yee in "Hell's Angels", TV station writer Man Ka Lei in "Bewitched Files", Guangzhou girl Chai Kefeng in "Hong Kongers in Guangzhou", happy ghost Lin Jia Yi in "Rushing to Earth", and a local drama "Tea House". She also played the role of Pan Meiya, a mountain woman, in the local drama "Tea is Thick in the Hometown". In particular, in the nostalgic drama series "The Difficult Siblings", she impersonated Chan Po-chu, the queen of Cantonese films in the 1950s and 1960s, to great acclaim, and won the award for the "Top Five Most Memorable Actresses of the 20th Century in TVB". Compared with Liza Wang, Fiona Siu, Gigi Chiu, and Nancy Sit, who were all awarded the same prize, Cheung was the youngest one in terms of both age and seniority. She is the youngest in terms of age and seniority compared to her contemporaries.
