The nine basic movements of the slow three-step male step of the social dance:

Male gesture: while the male partner turns 90° on the 2nd beat, the right hand of the male partner and the left hand of the male partner cooperate to imply the female partner's right turn and control the angle of her turn.
6. 180° left turn
Preparatory positions: front step, closed dance position.
Male gesture: while the male partner turns 180° on the 2nd beat, the right hand of the male partner and the left hand of the male partner work together to imply the left turn of the female partner and control the angle of her turn.
7. 180° right turn
Preparatory positions: front step, closed dance position.
Male gesture: while the male partner turns 180° on the 2nd beat, the male partner's right hand and left hand cooperate to imply the female partner's right turn and control the angle of turn.
8. Left Continuous 180° Turns
Preparatory Positions: Steps, Closed Dance Positions.
Male gesture: while the male partner is turning left 180° in the 2nd beat, the male partner's left hand and right hand match to imply that the female partner is turning left and controlling the angle of turning.
Male partner's left hand and right hand will be used to imply female partner's left turn on the 4th beat, and control the angle of the turn.
9. 180° Right Continuous Turns
Preparatory positions: Step, Closed Dance.
Male gesture: while the male partner turns right 180° on the 2nd beat, the male partner's right hand works with the left hand to imply the female partner's right turn and control the angle of her turn.
