Introduction to Jin Sha's works

"Shepherd's Girl" is Kanasa's debut composition.

It is a melody that was once popular throughout the country and circulated all over the world. The lyrics were composed by the poet Zou Difan during the Anti-Japanese War, and after being composed by Jin Sha in the 1940s, it really gained wider circulation in the 1950s. Jinsha was only 19 years old when he composed the tune, studying at the composition department of the National Conservatory of Music in Qingmuguan, Ba County, Sichuan Province. The piece is a sobbing, heartfelt expression of love for life and one's soulmate. Shanghai singer Yu Xuanxuan was the first to sing the song, which captivated countless fans. The song is often mistaken for a folk song from Sichuan, Qinghai or Inner Mongolia. The Soviet Union, the Czech Republic, Romania and other countries of the music troupes competing to sing, the Japanese recordings of this song is translated as "flower girl".

The success of "The Shepherd Girl" lies in the expression of the author's yearning for a better life and the reflection of the characteristics of China at that time. The misfortune and sorrow of the shepherd girl aptly expresses the feelings of the majority of Chinese people in that era:

"The girl on the opposite hill, for whom are you tending the flock of sheep? Tears wet your clothes, why are you so sad ......"

At that time, the remuneration for composing music was not even enough to buy a magazine, and Jinsha lived in poverty. The scrawny young man with a heart as high as the sky wore a gray cloth coat in spring, summer, fall and winter. He lent steel plates to schools, accompanied folk songs, and stayed up late at night to write music to earn money to support his arduous studies. His thin and emaciated body forced him to drop out of school and return to his hometown, Tongliang, to recuperate. After recovering, he was enrolled in the Art Education Department of the Sichuan National Institute of Social Education of the Republic of China to study composition. This college was later moved to Gusu, an ancient city in the south of the Yangtze River. Jinsha, who had left his family behind to study in Sichuan, continued to study with the school, thus laying a solid foundation of musical knowledge. In the 1960s, in his early forties, Jin Sha entered the golden age of his creative career. The music of the opera "Sister Jiang" was the most wonderful work he participated in the creation of in his life. To this day, it is still regarded as the best localized opera work in China. The first draft of the libretto for the opera "Sister Jiang" took only eighteen days to create, according to CCTV. When a thick pile of scripts was placed on the desk of the commander of the political department of the Air Force, General Liu Yalou was sensitive to the fact that this work would possibly bring a classic to the opera stage of the new China. Thus, "Sister Jiang" was listed as a key production of the Air Force Opera Troupe. The task of composing the music fell to three people: Yang Ming, Jiang Chunyang and Jinsha.

The only one of the three who is a Sichuanese is Jinsha, and looking at the music of "Sister Jiang", which is rich in Sichuan flavor, Jinsha's pivotal role in the creation of the song is self-evident.

To find inspiration, the composers went to Jiang's hometown to learn from the rich and colorful forms of local Sichuan opera. A year later, they came up with their first draft. The result was unexpected - the creation of this time by the head of all overthrown, not a word left! The unexpected bumps and blows almost broke everyone. After nearly a year of revision, and after systematic study of Sichuan Opera, Wu Opera, Yue Opera, Hangzhou Opera, Shanghai Opera, Sichuan Yangqin, Qingyin, Hangzhou Tangling and other local operas and folk music, and then combined with the spirit of Sister Jiang's fearlessness in the face of danger, at home in the face of death, and the personality characteristics of calm and unruffled, soft on the outside and firm on the inside. Jinsha and his collaborators finally found the musical soul that shaped Sister Jiang.

Jiang Sister's opera has a main theme, "Red Plum Praise," which has captivated fans nationwide. It came about by chance.

At that time, Liu Yalou, commander of the creation of Jiang Sister, put forward eight words: carve and refine, to create a fine product. In the opera "Sister Jiang", the beginning did not want to write the theme song, then Liu Yalou found Yan Su said: "I was in Moscow, watching the opera "Carmen", they have a theme song, "Sister Jiang" also write a good?" Yan Su first wrote the lyrics are: "rowing on the Yangtze River, even if the wind and waves ......" Liu Yalou felt dissatisfied, Yan Su then took out a piece of paper from his pocket and said: "This is the comrades of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music asked me to write the lyrics of a song, the original intention is to write the plum blossom, I took the plum blossom, and the plum blossom is to write the plum blossom, I took the plum blossom. The original intention is to write about the plum blossom, I named 'Red Plum Praise', do you think it's okay?" The first time I saw it, they all said yes, and so "Red Plum Praise" became the theme song of "Sister Jiang".

Yang Ming, one of the composers, was the first to write a melody of the theme of the prototype of the "Red Plum on the Red Rock", triggering the inspiration of the Jinsha, on the basis of which was added to the fluttering cantata, a large number of pulling apart, compression, flower, expansion, and melting into some of the Jiangnan beach spring tones, and the Sichuan yangqin music penetrate each other, and soft and hard to form the relatively complete "Praise of the Red Plum", which is the most important theme song in the world. The theme song of "Red Plum Praise" is relatively complete.

And "Embroidering the Red Flag" can be said to be the most emotional work Jinsha has ever created in his life.

Jinsha seized the unique feelings of the characters under the specific circumstances of the plot and emphasized "embroidering with deep emotion". He envisioned: although Jiang Sister in prison, but full of confidence in the future, and determined to strive for the realization of a better life, and therefore should show the spirit of optimism; can be in the cell, heard the news of the founding of the new China, Jiang Sister and her cellmates, although the mood of excitement, but can not raise their voices to cheers, singing, but only in the depths of their hearts joy, at the same time, the new China's red flag looks like what they know nothing about it, can only be imagined from the air! "Embroidery". After such a presumption, Jinsha with a delicate and deep tone, the music language is soft and rigid, combined with the characteristics of the folk song to the opera, "a wave of high waves," the development of the technique, sung as a heartfelt monologue from the heart, full of passion and imagination.
