Fresh off the heels of the South Korean contestant who beat up a Chinese contestant during an arm wrestling match on the South Korean fighting reality show "ROAD MAN," controversy has erupted over an advertisement filmed by South Korean artist Park Bo-geun for the American sports brand K-SWISS.
Park Bo-geun became popular for his role as Choi-taek in the Korean drama "Please Answer 1988," in which Choi-taek is a South Korean Go player who routinely and variously crushes players from China and Japan.
Park Bo-geun also capitalized on Choi-taek's persona in the commercial above, which shows a game of Go, with Park Bo-geun's name tag showing the man he's playing against as "Miles of Great Wall". The "Great Wall" is not only portrayed as a short, fat man with a gold chain around his neck, but he is also slapped in the face by a woman in the ensuing dance-off.
Those in attendance laughed at the scene. In the end, the "Great Wall" unsurprisingly lost the match. With insulting implications. If you don't do it, you won't die
