Born on March 9, 1977 in Huangshi, Hubei province, Chen Shu married Zhao Yinyin in September 2009. She worked as a dancer in the Oriental Song and Dance Troupe, then enrolled in the acting department of the Central Academy of Drama, and in 2001 entered the National Theatre of China. She is now an artist signed by SMG Shangshi Film. She has been honored with the 2011 Magnolia Award for Best Actress and the 2011 Huading Award for Best Actress, and is known as the "Queen of Cheongsam".
