Wu Cheng'en (1500 - c. 1583), courtesy name Ruzhong (汝忠), was known as a native of the Shiyang Mountains. Han nationality, Huai'an Fu Shanyang County people (now Huai'an City, Huai'an District). He was originally from Anhui Province, and was called the Gaodian Wu Clan because his ancestors lived in Gaodian, Mianyang. He is an outstanding novelist of the Ming Dynasty in China.
