What the 40-60 age group needs most

The distribution of age groups of patients hospitalized for the first time, as shown in the report, shows that the age group of high incidence of malignant tumors in women is relatively shifted forward by about 5 years compared to men as a whole. The high incidence age for females is in the 40-60 year old range, peaking in the 50 year old group. For men, the high incidence age is 45-65 years old, and the peak is in the 55 years old group. Uniformly for both genders, the highest number of cases of first hospitalization for malignant neoplasms is found in people around the age of fifty. Therefore, this age group should also pay particular attention to cancer prevention physical examination.

Guan Ning, director of Physical Examination Center of Provincial Cancer Hospital, reminded that ordinary physical examination, which many people insist on once a year, is not a complete substitute for anti-tumor screening. Because the general physical examination is only to check the heart, liver and kidney functions as well as blood sugar, blood fat, blood pressure, etc., to grasp the general condition of the human body, and usually can only find some common chronic diseases at an early stage. Tumor screening, on the other hand, is more specialized, and in addition to early detection, it will also detect some functional changes and diseases that increase the chances of cancer, and evaluate and intervene in these conditions, so as to block the occurrence of cancer due to pre-cancerous lesions or diseases to the greatest extent possible. Therefore, people who have symptoms of discomfort in the relevant areas, or have a family history of cancer, long-term irregular life, dietary disorders, and are at high risk of developing cancer should consult their doctors as early as possible, and conduct cancer screening in a reasonable manner.
