Great Wall Station, located in the southern part of King George's Island, was China's first scientific research station in Antarctica. Established in 1985, the station covers an area of 2.52 square kilometers with an average altitude of 10 meters. The station has been expanded four times since its establishment, and there are now 25 buildings of various kinds, including 7 main buildings (office building, dormitory building, medical, cultural and sports building, meteorological building, communication building, scientific research building) as well as a number of other scientific and logistic buildings, with a total construction area of about 4,200 square meters. It can accommodate 60 people in summer and about 20 people in winter. King George Island, with its beautiful scenery, is a gathering place for seabirds, penguins, seals and other polar animals, and is also the most densely populated scientific research station in Antarctica, with the stations of Chile, Argentina, South Korea, Russia and Uruguay not far away from each other, making it a humanistic scenic spot for foreign tourists coming to Antarctica for sightseeing.
Aitcho Island (Aitcho Island)
Aitcho Island is located in the middle of Greenwich Island and Robert Island, and is generally a necessary place for Antarctic travelers to see flocks of hooded penguins on the island, as well as orange-red beak, white above the eye brows of the Gentoo penguins (aka Gentoo penguins), and if you are lucky, you can also see sunbathing Wyandotte seals. Deception Island
Deception Island, a horseshoe-shaped island, is an active volcanic island in Antarctica. It has erupted several times, most recently in 1960, 1969 and 1970. In the 1969 eruption, 45 people were buried. It was also the base of the whaling industry for 10 years after 1921, and giant barrels of whale oil could be seen at Whale Bay. The British later established Base B here to keep an eye on the Germans and even built an airplane hangar on the island. This is our last stop in Antarctica, and Whale Bay is also the best place to enjoy a polar swim, as the water is smooth and warmer due to the active volcano.
Wilhelmina Bay
The towering mountains and deep glaciers of the Antarctic Peninsula around Wilhelmina Bay make you wonder at the magic of ice and water. Wilhelmina Bay was once frequented by whalers as a feeding ground for whales and seals. Weather and ice floe conditions permitting, it's also possible to get a close-up view of a derelict whaler using our polar boat.
Cuverville Island
The island is the territory of the largest colony of Gentoo penguins (also known as Kintu penguins) on the Antarctic Peninsula. It is also a good place to see giant petrels, blue-eyed cormorants, black-backed gulls, Antarctic gulls and thieving gulls. The shallow waters around this island often lead to stranded ice floes that build up into spectacular icebergs. On Kufoi Island (64°40'S, 62°37'W), where the Gentoo penguins congregate, there is already ice all around. In fact Kufovi is a black rocky island that lies quietly in the Errera channel between northern Ronge Island and the Aktoski Peninsula, with black reefs visible along the edge of the sea-washed shore.
Paradise Harbour
As its name suggests, Paradise Harbour is so enchanting that it may just be the place you've always dreamed of, where words pale into insignificance, and your heart is the only thing that matters. As Zodiac traveled slowly along the waterway, the world was surprisingly quiet, and all that rang in our ears was the faint sound of thousands of tiny bubbles rising to the surface of the water as the icebergs melted, as well as the sound of the ice floes on the surface of the water as they were being crashed into by our dinghy. The icebergs are crystal clear, the water is as clear as a mirror, and the reflections are so connected that you can't tell where the sky is and where the earth is. Port Lockroy/British Station
Built in 1941, the port was abandoned in 1962 after being used as a secret base for Operation Tabarin during World War II. It was abandoned in 1962, and only in 1996 was converted into a museum by the Antarctic Heritage Foundation, making it the southernmost museum on earth. The lodge has a post office and gift store selling stamps, postcards and souvenirs. In addition to postal services, the store offers first day covers and rare Antarctic postmarks. Lemaire Channel
The Lemaire Channel is a narrow 11-kilometre-long, 1,600-metre-wide channel from False Cape Renard to Cape Cloos that separates Booth Island from the Antarctic mainland. The view into the Lima channel is spectacular, with towering peaks over 300 meters above the channel and a width of only about 800 meters at the narrowest point, making sailing through the channel feel like the Antarctic mountains are bearing down on you. It is also the best place to see crab-eating seals, Weddell seals and leopard seals on the ice floes, and it is possible to spot minke whales traveling alongside the ship. The scenery and the reasons for giving it this honorable title cannot be described in words. One visit here and you will understand the fascination of Antarctica, a majestic river with a touch of eeriness, it is fascinating but always brings a bit of awe; it is attractive but peculiar. Peterman Island
Peterman Island is one of the most scenic spots in the Penola Channel, southwest of Hovgaard Island, part of the Wilhelm Archipelago. It is part of the Wilhelm Archipelago. The island is 200 meters above sea level, allowing for spectacular views from the top. There are around 500 pairs of Adélie penguins on Petermann Island, which is a rare large rookery for this species of penguin. There are also around 2,000 pairs of Gentoo penguins (also known as Kintu penguins), the southernmost large rookery for this group of penguins on the Antarctic Peninsula, as well as many Antarctic skuas and blue-eyed cormorants. Whales traveled in groups through the ice floes, while seals lounged on the ice floes, sunning themselves.
Brown Bluff (Brown Bluff)
