What is the "Limei Movement" in Buddhism?
In the second half of the 19th century, the religious research movement that rose in Tibet meant "non-sectarian" and "non-biased". It was advocated by the Nyima School's Baju Rinpoche, Jiang Yangqin Zhewangbo Rinpoche and Mipang Rinpoche, as well as the Kagyu School's Jiang Gongkang Rinpoche, the Gelugpa School's Tuden Quji Zaba (also known as Miya Kunsuo) and the Sakya School's Volodye Wangbo. The spirit of this movement emphasizes that believers do not have to give up their original sects or focus on learning, but respect the lamas and doctrines of all sects equally, so they can study different teachings and engage in different practices. However, the path of practice must follow a system of inheritance, so that it will not be disordered. When we can understand the essence of Buddhism, we will naturally understand that all sects are exactly the same in essence of Buddhism, and the differences between them are only differences in emphasis, ingenuity and convenience. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The first generation of Jiang Gongkang Chu Rinpoche was taught by more than 135 different inheritance gurus, and together with the first generation of Jiang Yangqin Zhe Rinpoche and the first generation of Qiu Jilin Ba Rinpoche, he launched the Buddhist revival movement, which was called the "Limei Movement". "Li Mei" means unbiased, and its purpose is not to establish a new sect or organization, but to collect the rich connotations of various sects, so as to benefit everyone, which is very enlightening for an open mind and the idea of abandoning sects. They "advocate respecting their own inheritance and practicing hard, and at the same time admit that other sects have the same value as inheritance and give them respect;" I don't blink and praise myself, nor do I respect him. " The participants in this movement are not only religious scholars and walkers, but also many talented artists, poets, doctors and even scientists, such as Jamgon Ju Mipham Gyatso. ------The article comes from the book "Songs Without Death", a brief introduction to the "Five Treasures" of the Limei Movement. The origin of Tashi Duoji's compilation of the "Five Treasures": On the first day of November in Ding Maonian (1867), Master Qinze was invited to come, and when the opening ceremony was held for the Yangchu Buddhist Temple, a master of Gongzhu, the mediocre realm suddenly disappeared and rose to infinity. There are four doors around the tower, and there are five treasures in it. Each treasure is full of magic weapons. There are many wise men and achievers in it, who are greeting the master. The master has visited the contents of each French collection one by one and kept them in mind. Later, Master Qin Ze wrote an outline list of each Tibetan, handed it to Master Gong Zhu, and repeatedly encouraged Master Gong Zhu to compile it, which became an unprecedented epoch-making work integrating Tibetan Buddhism and traditional culture: A General Interpretation of Buddhism and Tibetan Culture, A Collection of Clever Tactics, A Collection of Oral Secrets, A Secret Collection without * * *, and A Treasure Hidden in Hidden Stories. The Total Interpretation of the Secret Schools and Tibetan Culture is also known as the Collection of Knowledge or the Collection of Knowledge, and its full name is The Total Photograph of the Rides? On the theory of three studies and goodness in the treasure of Confucian classics? Known all over the world. This book represents the highest achievement of Buddhism in Tibet. It expounds in detail the history and teachings of primitive Buddhism, Mahayana Buddhism, and the secret golden rule, reveals the essence of the continuation of the sutra, the opinions and characteristics of various sects in Tibet in terms of smell, thinking, cultivation and fruit, and even the Sanskrit and Tibetan language (statement), logical reasoning knowledge and epistemology (due to reason), arts and crafts skills (skillful work), physical and mental cultivation. As well as rhetoric, rhetoric, temperament, song and dance, astronomical calendar (Wushan Ming) and other Tibetan traditional culture sources, teaching methods, essentials, what are the needs, etc., an encyclopedia-style masterpiece of millions of words. This book is praised as: "The best of all books is the wisdom ocean of the seeker, the boat of the mind of the thinker, the secret treasure of the observer and the mirror of the researcher". This book is the road to liberation and becoming a Buddha, the key to the treasure house of Buddhism and Tibetan traditional culture, and the wishful treasure that can satisfy all kinds of pursuers and hobbies. What this book represents is that the great Tibetan people have absorbed the Chinese civilizations in South Asia, West Asia, Central Asia and the Central Plains on the basis of the abundant culture of the primitive religion for thousands of years, and have experienced the best and most outstanding Tibetans for generations, putting all their emotions, will, wisdom and life into the exploration of the universe and life, and gained the history of human pursuit. (History of Secret Religion), the essence, origin and evolution of the universe and life, the unity and great change of spirit and matter, the relationship between man and the universe, how human beings can surpass themselves and become a higher life form, and how they constantly create and develop ancient science and technology in the process of exploring mysteries. At present, experts, scholars and professors of natural and social sciences in western countries have set off an upsurge of Tibetan studies represented by Tibet. Together with other Buddhist, medical, historical, literary and other works of the master, there are slightly more than 1 letters in the above five collections. A brief introduction to the life and works of Master Gong Zhu Yun Deng Jia Cuo in the history of modern Tibetan Buddhism, Gong Zhu Yun Deng Jia Cuo (also known as Jiang Genluo Zhuotaye), the great Lama, together with his most outstanding masters and Taoist friends, Jiang Yangqin Zewangbo and Qu Jiulingba, started a movement to break the paranoia of religious sects after extensive knowledge and culture study in the world and in the world, and on the basis of practical practice and demonstration. All the world knowledge and culture are integrated by the old and the new, and a teaching system that can meet the needs of all seekers of various faiths and roots is created, which has greatly revived the teachings and practices of Buddhism and the traditional Indian culture, and has exerted an increasing influence on the spiritual culture of all ethnic groups in the world at present. Throughout his life, Master Gong Zhu was "where, before me, are the ages that have gone? and and where, behind me, are the coming generations?" in promoting Buddhism, benefiting all sentient beings and reviving culture, and no one can match him. Only the master's career in listening, thinking, practicing, speaking, arguing and writing can't be accomplished by ordinary people all his life. The master wrote an autobiography about his deeds, which is the best and most valuable autobiography of religious figures I have ever read. With concise and plain writing, the master truly revealed the spiritual course of his life, described the ups and downs of his family background, the process of birth and growth of his life, the experience of studying, practicing, realizing and achieving, the cause of teaching, writing, spreading the Dharma to benefit the students, killing vicious demons and foreign enemies, and related historical figures and major events in Tibet in the 19th century. For the yogi, the most valuable part of the biography is the detailed record of the various feelings and achievements of the master in the state of true realization, meditation, dream, etc. during the birth and successful practice of each secret method, which can be used as a reference for monks. The autobiographies of the masters and the Biography of Master Jiang Yang Qin Ze, written by the masters for their masters, involve a great deal of the memory storehouse of human life-to-life experiences-Arya knowledge, which can be similarly understood as the development and transformation of the so-called "subconscious" and "unconscious" in contemporary western psychoanalysis or the "soul" called by other religions, as well as the transformation and unification of mind and matter (spirit and matter) and the change of supernatural powers. However, these things that can only be understood by practical experience are far from being understood by our foolish and narrow-minded minds, so we only choose a few things that ordinary people can understand to briefly introduce the life and works of the master. In 1813, accompanied by many auspicious signs, Master Gong Zhu was born near a sacred mountain called "Banmalaze" on the bank of Dege Jinsha River, one of the three cradles of Tibetan culture. The master's family name is the famous "poor wave", which means "Dapeng". According to legend, this clan is the heavenly teacher, Pu Xian Ming Guang Wang. In order to guide all beings, he transformed a Dapeng from his heart and came to Tibet. The young Peng who laid Peng eggs and hatched is the ancestor of the master and the ancestor of the "poor wave (Dapeng) family". Perhaps it is the nature that a bird can fly. Since ancient times, there have been many people who turned into rainbow lights or ascended to heaven at the end of their lives. For example, the well-known founders of Mirariba and Shambagaju, and the masters such as Qiong Bolanga, are descendants of this family. The master's father, Yong Zhong Fan Zeng, is a Lama who lives in this religion. Mother's name is "Zhaxicuo". After the master came out of the womb peacefully, he didn't suck milk for seven days in a row, so he had to be fed with melted crisp. (Because a person's wisdom and memory in his old age were all clouded by entering the womb or drinking human milk, when a special person came out of the womb, he often had something to avoid filth, such as carnelian grass, or didn't suck human milk, but such people had poor immunity in the early years, and once they were polluted by the outside world, they would easily die. And because of the obvious inner wisdom and memory, I seem to be old and lonely and unsociable when I was a child or a teenager. In the future, I am not much influenced by the outside world. Most of them live in the strong belief of their own hearts and can destroy or build the world with strong heart. ) The master who had not learned Tibetan letters, when he was four years old, suddenly recited the practice method of Manjusri Bodhisattva, which represents wisdom. Since then, the religious habits of the past have begun to awaken in his heart; When I was young, I didn't wear common clothes at home, but only liked to wear red and yellow clothes of monks. When I was playing, I only engaged in some religious-related games such as initiation, preaching, building temples and Taoist temples, and announced to everyone that I was the incarnation of Master Lotus Peanut. When I was five years old, I began to learn to recite Tibetan pinyin letters. Because the master was extremely talented, he understood it as soon as he learned it, so he didn't want to learn it. When he was eight years old, he was issued by Kambu Sonan Gezhuo, the teacher of the Tibetan Manchu Temple, and named it "Tenzin Yongzhong". Later, as a monk of this religion, the master entered a nearby small temple of this religion to learn chanting, rituals and things, and so on. At that time, the master could see some magical things during the day, and all kinds of rare places appeared in his dreams at night, but these dreams could be fulfilled, and his life experiences in the past often emerged in his heart, so he was sometimes happy and sometimes sad. Later, due to the filth of diet and clothes, the appearance became more and more dizzy, and the memory and appearance of the past life gradually disappeared. Once, from a nearby mountain, a Buddhist Lama came down with great magical powers, and told his family: "This is the nature of a bodhisattva, the messenger of Wujinbanma (Lotus Master). Although he will have a good reputation in the future, there will be great obstacles when he is thirteen years old. At the age of fifteen, the local people negotiated with each other and killed the government officers, so the government confiscated all the property, cattle, sheep and land here, and all the participants (together with the master's father) were thrown into prison and later exiled. As a result of this incident, the master changed from a poor middle class to a penniless beggar overnight, and the young master began to truly experience the impermanence and pain of life, and he was born with a heart of separation. Later, the master took a fancy to the government and was chosen as the secretary of the toast, following around. Once, when the master told the toast and others about the history of this religion and recited various scriptures, his wisdom and eloquence were deeply admired by the toast, and he decided to send the master to further study. So the master was sent to Dege Xieqing Temple, a famous temple of Ningma School, to learn all worldly and worldly knowledge in accordance with the most learned and revised class. Once, when the master and an old Lama in a temple went to the mountain, they were trapped by a snowstorm. When they were resting on the road, just like Lu Xingren, the founder of Zen in the Central Plains, showed his wisdom in Dayuling, the old Lama said to him, "When you are so hungry and sleepy, let your heart suddenly and settle down. The mind at the moment is the nature of your heart, and there is nothing else." The master realized that the amount of wisdom born from the heart is now accessible. Six years later, when the master left the temple for other reasons, Dapan Zhida clearly saw the rare and extraordinary career of the master in the future with his magical power of knowing the past and the future. Therefore, he specially awarded the master a near-circle ring according to the old translation of the lower law and precept of the Ningma School, and awarded the master the title of King Kong Ashley, named "Yun Deng Jia Cuo (Gong De Hai)", and repeatedly told the master: "Always reduce your mind." The master went to Dege Babang Temple, which is called Shambala in the snowy area (this is the second largest temple of Karma Kagyu Sect after Chupu Temple, the ancestral temple). Situ Rinpocheban Mamin Jiewangbo, the Babang Temple, regarded the master as the only child, and again awarded the master a near-circle ring according to the law of the Neo-Confucianism Sect, named Karma Awang Yundengjiacuo Chengye Chabei Rongbo (Karma language is free of merit) In order to meet the needs of management, he was identified as the reincarnation living Buddha of a near-servant Lama named "Gong Zhu" by Stuart Rinpoche in his previous life, so the master was named "Gong Zhu Living Buddha" and made the master the sole heir, making the master abbot orthodox. Master and Jiangyangqin are Rinpoche. When they met from childhood, they were as happy as father and son. Because Babang Temple and Zongsa Temple are only separated by a mountain, the two masters often communicate and give each other the nectar of Buddhism. Later, Master Qin Ze gave Master Gong Zhu the teaching precepts and seven orders of various schools, and made Master Gong Zhu the sole dharma master. Similarly, Master Gong Zhu took the post of Qu Jiu, a teacher from Dafuzang, and accepted all the orders of * * * and not * * *. In this way, the master successively stopped the lotus feet of fifty tuas and integrated the teachings and practice methods of all religious sects in Tibet into his heart. For so many kinds of dharma, the master is not only satisfied with hearing and thinking, but has closed his doors and specialized in the birth and perfection of nearly 1 kinds of secret dharma, and during each practice, there are a lot of signs of perception and achievement, and he has obtained various enlightenments, admonitions and grants from three fundamental saints, such as truth, meditation and seeing the guru in his dream.
