Young Enola Penny is walking home when she is intrigued by a long-abandoned theater. One night, she notices that the front door of the theater is hidden, and on a whim, she decides to slip inside and find out what's going on. But there, on the dark, dilapidated stage, a performance she has never seen before is taking place. The host, a grotesque mannequin named Peg Poett, introduces Penny to six absurd and bizarre stories: a couple traveling in the remote French Pyrenees meets a lecherous witch; a paranoid lover confronts his angry significant other when pushed to his limits; a cheating husband in a Freudian dream can't distinguish between hallucination and reality; the mind of a child unravels a fear of the real world; a woman delays in the memories of others while trapping herself in the eye crystals of those she has murdered; a couple's overindulgence in perversion and depravity causes sweetness to turn to bitterness.
