The young man's name is Kwok Ka Kui, and the company he had just founded closed down, and his girlfriend, who had been in love for years, left him. And his mother calls to say that his father has had a stroke and asks him to come back.
In the evening, he drives past a cabaret when the police come to investigate. When a young lady named Lily came out, he was kind enough to let her get into his car and take her back to his place.
While he was polite enough to let Lily stay at his home, he had the idea of bringing Lily back as his girlfriend. Because his father's greatest hope was to see him start a family, and if he brought his girlfriend back to celebrate his father's good fortune, he would probably be cured soon.
So Ka Kui opened the door and said that he would rent Lily as his girlfriend and bring her home. Lily felt that she could not go back to work in the cabaret for a while, so she bargained with him and agreed to pretend to be his girlfriend for 2,000 dollars a week.
In order not to let his parents see the cracks, Ka Kui asked Lily to dye her yellow hair black, and also went to buy a set of decent clothes. But when she came out after buying the clothes, she was blocked by debt collectors.
It took a great deal of effort and a promise to pay back the money tomorrow for Ka Kui to escape. He had no money left to take the train home overnight, and just after getting on the train Lily was annoyed because he had broken his promise when he said he would fly back.
To make sure the rent is paid, Lily signs a contract with Ka Kui. They got off the train and took a bus instead, and a tricycle before returning home. Walking home from the village entrance, the villagers looked at the two of them curiously.
Just as they stepped into the house, Ka Kui went to see his father who could no longer move. Lily followed Ka Kui's lead and called out sweetly to her dad, who should have been happy inside but couldn't express it.
When it was time to go to bed at night, Lily had to sleep in a cot with Ka Kui, which she strongly objected to. But it's not in the contract to sleep in different beds, and if they don't, the fake girlfriend will be exposed. Instead, the two of them each slept on one side of the bed.
With nothing else to do during the day, Lily took a walk around the village. There was a woman in a special dress who followed her, and even took the initiative to talk to her, saying, "You're back? She looked right and left and thought it was a strange woman, but this woman actually said as Lily walked back, I'm getting married and you have to come.
Back home with doubts, Jiaju told her mother that she wanted them to get married. The contract is just pretending to be a girlfriend, Lily, of course, did not agree. Unexpectedly, Ka Kui's mother slipped her a red packet and handed her an ancestral bracelet so she couldn't refuse.
The wedding was very lively, relatives and people from the village came to congratulate. Dressing up as a bride, Lily became even more beautiful, but thinking that it was a fake marriage, she ran out crying in front of everyone. Ka Kui immediately followed her out, telling her not to drop the ball at a critical time.
Later, Ka Kui added rent in order to let Lily return to the wedding site, generous and decent toast. At the evening bridal chamber, Jia Kui suddenly said, why don't we fake it? Lily, of course, disagrees.
The next day, Ka Kui's father seemed to be much more energetic and wanted to smoke. He thought that the wedding had really worked, but his parents realized from Lily's behavior that it was really a fake marriage, but they didn't point it out to him.
After Ka Kui fed his father, his father wanted to stop him and give him some advice, but before he could say anything, he just fell asleep and never woke up.
After putting his father to rest, Ka Kui's cousin always loved to play with Lily. From her cousin's mouth, Lily learned that the woman was a lady. She earned money and came back to get married, but her husband didn't want her because he thought she was unclean, so she went crazy.
When Ka Kui saw Lily putting make-up on her cousin, he felt that Lily was a lady and would bring her cousin down. Words were full of contempt for Lily and he was so angry that Lily packed up her things and left without taking the rent.
After Lily left, Ka Kui realized his words were too hurtful and immediately rode his bike to catch up. When he catches up with Lily, it just so happens that the debt collectors have come looking for him, having been snubbed once, this time they must recover the money. But Ka Kui didn't have any money, they were so furious that they wanted to cut off his hand.
In the most critical time, Lily gave the bank card with 80,000 dollars to the debtor, and Ka Kui got out of danger. Originally he wanted to take Lily home with him, but Lily went off on her own.
Subsequently, Ka Kui also went back to Beijing again. Three years later, he made a comeback and paid off the money he owed Lily, but never saw her.
Suddenly one day, Ka Kui saw on the news that Lily had been arrested at the police station, and he rushed there. But the man just had the same name as Lily. So Ka Kui drove off again.
When Ka Kui's car reached an intersection, his phone rang and he hurriedly stopped to answer it. Just then, Lily, with her belly high in the air, walked by, who by now was married to a good woman and about to become a mother, and the two of them just missed each other.
This is the storyline of the movie "Rent," which depicts a broke young man bringing his fake girlfriend home to comfort his parents. Even though he despises Lily, when he is in a critical situation, Lily helps him with all his savings so that he can continue his business. And because of this experience, Lily marries a good man and starts a brand new life.
This shows that meeting good people can fulfill each other and make each other better and happier. #Micro Headlines
