Yinggong Dance is one of the Han Chinese dance forms, popular in the Chaoshan region of Guangdong (Shantou, Jieyang, Chaozhou, Shanwei). The main performance form of the dance is a large-scale group dance, in which the dancers hold a short wooden stick in each hand and hit each other up and down, left and right, with robust and powerful movements and strong rhythms. After the dance, there is a small opera, called "Yingge Houpang". Ying Ge Dance belongs to the Han Chinese Square Emotional Dance. Chaoyang District, Chaonan District, Puning City, Lufeng City, Huilai County and Chaoan District of Chaozhou City, Shantou City, are the most prevalent areas of Ying Ge Dance. According to the oral tradition of folk artists and some supporting information, Chaoyang English song originated in the Ming Dynasty.
