Passion fruit only blooms without fruit. What happened? How can I improve my grades?

Passion fruit, also known as pomegranate, belongs to passion fruit vine. Fruit is rich in nutrition, containing protein, vitamins and trace elements, among which soluble solids account for 15%~ 16%, so it is known as the "king of juice". Moreover, when the flowers bloom, the flowers are beautiful, and when the fruits are ripe, they are red and attractive, which is very popular among flower friends. When we raise passion fruit, if we don't manage it properly, it's easy to have only flowers without fruit. What's going on here?

1, lack of sunshine Passion fruit likes sunny environment. If the sunshine is insufficient or the ventilation is not good, it is easy to bloom less and the fruit setting rate is low, which leads to the failure of passion fruit to blossom and bear fruit. So what should we do?

Sunshine management: If passion fruit is cultivated in the open field, we can choose a sunny place when planting, which is not only beneficial to the growth of passion fruit, but also makes the plant short and strong, which is not easy to cause diseases and has a greater chance of bearing fruit after flowering. Potted passion fruit, we can move to a sunny place, which is more conducive to its growth.

Passion fruit is a vine, which needs to be put aside during the growing period. We can make the shelf bigger when we put it on the shelf, which can play the role of ventilation and light transmission, and is also very beneficial to the flowering and fruiting of passion fruit.

2. The soil is dry. Passion fruit is a shallow-rooted plant. It likes humidity, is afraid of stagnant water and is afraid of drought. If you don't water it properly, it's easy to blossom and bear no fruit. How to water passion fruit?

Watering management: Passion fruit grows very fast and needs a lot of water. Flower bud differentiation stage and fruit expansion stage need a lot of water, but they can't accumulate water, because long-term accumulation of water can easily lead to passion fruit root rot.

Usually, we water passion fruit. We can wait until the soil turns white before watering it again, so we can keep the soil moist without watering it. When the weather is dry, always spray water around leaves and flowerpots. Don't spray water on the flowers to prevent them from rotting or poor pollination.

3. Passion fruit with partial nitrogen fertilizer grows faster, so it needs more fertilizer. However, when fertilizing passion fruit, if nitrogen fertilizer is applied in a partial way, it is easy to have flowers falling, resulting in passion fruit only flowering but not bearing fruit. So how to fertilize passion fruit?

Fertilization suggestion: when planting passion fruit, you can apply a proper amount of decomposed manure, which will not only loosen the soil, but also have fertility and help the growth of passion fruit. After passion fruit grows vigorously, you can apply a thin layer of nitrogen and potassium fertilizer. Then, after the fruit is produced, apply a thin decomposed cake fertilizer or compound fertilizer every 45 days or so. Moreover, the content of nitrogen and potassium in compound fertilizer is high, and the content of phosphate fertilizer is low.

Also, in the early stage of passion fruit growth, don't apply nitrogen fertilizer in a partial way to prevent the flower from falling and bearing no fruit after flowering.

4. It is not good to pollinate passion fruit. When it blooms, bees and butterflies can be used for pollination. However, because passion fruit blooms a lot at a time, there are too few bees and butterflies, or there is no wind, the pollination rate of passion fruit is very low, which leads to the situation that it only blooms but does not bear fruit.

Pollination management: We can carry out artificial pollination at the flowering stage of passion fruit. Because passion fruit usually blooms in 10 ~ 1 1, and the best time for us to pollinate passion fruit is the flowering time, that is, half an hour after flowering and before 5 pm. Potted passion fruit can be pollinated with cotton swabs. Because passion fruit is hermaphrodite, it can be dipped in male pollen to pollinate female flowers.

As for sliced passion fruit, we can pick some flowers before the passion fruit blooms, and then make them into dried flowers and pollen. Then put the pollen in a powder-permeable bag, tie it to the top of the bamboo pole, and shake it on the passion fruit tree to pollinate it.

Passion fruit only blooms without fruit, which is mainly related to the above four points. As long as we pay proper attention to breeding, it is very simple for fruits to be covered with branches. How did you do that? Welcome flower friends to leave comments!
