Tea Picking Dance Folk Music Ensemble Music Introduction

The Tea Picking Dance is a folk music ensemble piece composed by Wu Ziliang, with a light and cheerful melody, rich in local flavor, depicting the joyful scenes of the busy tea picking season in southern China.

The piece is divided into three movements, namely, "Picking Tea in the Forest," "Baking Tea in the Gathering," and "Tasting New Tea. The first movement shows a vivid scene of tea pickers picking fresh leaves in a forest of tea leaves, and the music uses effects such as falling, tapping, and shaking to create the sounds and rhythms of tea picking. The second movement depicts many laborers roasting fresh tea leaves after the tea picking is over. Coffee-colored and aromatic smoke fills the air, and the whole scene is filled with an enticing aroma and sweet taste. The final movement describes the joy and satisfaction of the people as they taste the new tea, and the music consists of a relaxing tune.

The whole piece is flexible, light-hearted and joyful, reflecting both the hardships and joys of tea picking and expressing a deep love for tea culture. At the same time, this piece has become one of the classic pieces of Chinese folk music, often used for various occasions such as cultural performances.
