Nearly 100 albums not only made Feng Fei Fei a big sister in Taiwan's singing scene, but her stress-free folk works also accompanied us through those pale, difficult years and became the youth in our memories. Among them, "The Floating World" and "Want to Play the Same Tune" have been selected as one of the top 100 Taiwanese albums. But nowadays, Phoenix Fei Fei's selections circulating in the market only include a part of her early history of organizing and excavating folk tunes, such as "Pick Betel Nut", "By the River in Suzhou", "On the Banks of the River of Acacia", "Moonlight Serenade", etc., and at most, they mention Luo Dayou's "Dream Chasers", which has become a classic, and the period of her folk song originality has been easily omitted. In fact, this is the most noteworthy aspect of Feng Feifei as a singer. In her songs, you can feel the initial warmth of local songs. She takes us back to the earliest footprints, retrieving the footprints of folk songs from the past to the present; letting the busyness of the 90's come to a halt and rest; letting the urban forest of the 70's regain its innocence; letting the cries of the 50's that were hidden under the traditions resurface; and letting the 30's show the splendor of Taiwan's local songs. Feng Feifei is a history of the evolution of Taiwan's local songs, so much so that in the late 1990s her dedication and contribution to "localization" has reached a point where her Taiwanese counterparts are astonished.
In 1974, Feng Feifei began hosting a variety show on TV. Because her family was not very well off, she often struggled with her "outfit" when she first entered the show business. Once, she wore a duck-tongued cap on stage to sing, the result was an exceptionally enthusiastic response, and then every time on stage, as long as it is not wearing cheongsam and other traditional clothing, Feng Feifei is always a handsome trouser suit with a very different style of hat, with the magnetic voice and straight smile, and raise your hands to the audience to thank you, which has become her unique logo, so much so that she later in the TV program to take their own jokes: She did not have a beautiful face, but she was lazy and did not want to spend more time on make-up, so she put on a hat and appeared on the TV program, and the effect was even better than that of a beautiful woman! Since then, the title "Hat Queen" has appeared in various newspapers and magazines.
Fenghui Feifei with hat first is to save. Compared with many big-name entertainers who are now in the business, Feng Feifei didn't even have a stylist in his time, so he had to take care of everything himself. Hats can be made of shredded fabric, compared to tops and skirts, much more economical and frugal, growing up in the countryside, Feng Feifei naturally chose this cheap and effective stage costume. In fact, with Feng Feifei's status in the music industry at the time, it was not a fantasy to ask for a big effort in styling, but she preferred to choose cheap hats, but she did not want to be proud of the whole day with fancy clothes.
Wearing a hat is the only way to look good. Some people say that wearing a hat suppresses the vision, but Feng Feifei seems to be her unique perspective on the world. The brim of the hat is lowered to block out the unnecessary glare, and she concentrates on letting her eyes communicate with her fans and audience. As Feng Feifei said in a preface she wrote at the age of 25, "I have never intentionally added a few dazzling colors to the canvas of my life. Wearing a hat, Feng Feifei is at peace with the world in her eyes, and also at peace with the low-key natural style, which is her hat philosophy.
