Lancang Lahu Autonomous County in Yunnan Province is located in the southwest border of the motherland and is named after the Lancang River. It is the only Lahu Autonomous County in the country and is also the place where the movie "Lusheng Love Song" was born. Here, more than 20 ethnic groups, including Lahu, Han, Wa, Hani, Yi, Dai, Brown, and Hui, live. People of all ethnic groups have created dazzling national and folk cultures in their long-term production and life, forming a diverse and multi-faceted culture. Types, multiple styles, multiple symbols, and multiple elements blend into the existing folk literature, music, song and dance art.
Laodabao Natural Village in Menggen Village, Jiajing Township, Lancang County is a little-known place, but the original ecological singing and dancing of the Lahu people here has become famous far and wide. There are 94 households with 446 people living in Laodabao Village, all of whom are Lahu ethnic groups. Whenever people walk into this Lahu village, they will hear the melodious sound of the reed pipe and the simple singing of the Lahu people coming from the simple ganlan-style Lahu palm building.
In Laodabao Village, men can play the reed pipe and dance the reed pipe, and women can dance the swing dance. At present, they have mastered nearly 100 routines of Lusheng dance and swing dance, which are highly ornamental and artistically appealing. The reporter interviewed in Laodabao and found that the Laodabao people's polyphonic choruses have beautiful tunes and colorful lyrics. They hold guitars to accompany and sing by themselves when singing, and vividly express their favorite production and life scenes in Lahu language. The melody of choral music is harmonious, simple and innocent, and majestic, showing strong artistic appeal.
During the Spring Festival in 2005, 20 Lahu people from Laodabao walked out of the Lahu village and were invited to participate in the recording of the "Charming 12" "Lusheng Love Song" program on CCTV, allowing the Lahu people's multi-part chorus music to be displayed in front of the world.
In recent years, Lancang County has made great achievements in the excavation and organization of traditional folk culture.
