Legend of the origin of Miao people's stepping on Huashan Festival

There is a legend about the origin of stepping on Huashan Mountain: a long time ago, there was a peach blossom mountain in the depths of Baiyun, a peach blossom village on the mountain, and a beautiful peach blossom girl in the village. She is clever, diligent and very kind. Treat the old man like his parents, and treat his friends like his sisters. She is always surrounded by a large group of people, and many young men have sex with this girl. Peach blossom girl is willing to marry an honest man who only hunts and cultivates land every day in blowing sheng. One day, the peach blossom girl was robbed. When Brother Han learned this, he immediately took down the machete at his waist and cut down a palm tree in front of him, vowing to find the peach blossom girl and kill his enemy. Everyone in the village sympathized with him and offered money and food to support Brother Han. So he left his hometown with travelling expenses, machetes, bows and arrows, and peach blossoms.

It turned out that the bully in the distance took the peach blossom girl away. But no matter how intimidating he was, Peach Blossom refused to give in. Seeing the arrival of the annual New Year, the streets are full of excitement. Suddenly the family came to tell the bully. On the street came a man who wore a bird's coat and could play the six-pipe lusheng. He not only wears novel clothes, but also sings beautifully. Hearing this, the bully kindly invited Taohua to listen to Lusheng. Peach Blossom heard about Bird Clothes and learned that Brother Han was coming, and immediately went out to watch the fun with a smile. Han Ge was dancing in blowing sheng. Suddenly, he saw a group of well-dressed people shouting and breaking in. When he saw it, he was both happy and angry.

I am glad to finally see the peach blossom, but I am angry that there is a wicked man standing behind the peach blossom. So he took out the crossbow from under his down jacket, turned and shot an arrow at the wicked man, and hit him in the right eye impartially. The wicked man screamed and fainted to the ground. Brother Han quickly took out a machete, chopped it left and right, dispersed the slaves, picked up the peach blossom, flew on horseback, and left like a gust of wind. When Han Ge and Taohua returned to Taohua Mountain, the villagers were beaming, carrying rice wine and playing lusheng, singing and dancing around Han Ge and Taohua until the sun went down. Brother Han and Peach Blossom bid farewell to the villagers and rode away together.

Since then, people in Taohuashan have never seen them again. However, on the third day of the first month of every year, Miao people gather in the place where Brother Han and Peach Blossom dance, blowing sheng, singing, dancing, drinking, playing with knives, horse racing and archery. Over time, Huashan Festival will be formed.
