The police academy in China originated from Beiyang Police Academy in the late Qing Dynasty. Beiyang Patrol School was originally Tianjin Police School, which was founded in 1902. 1903 merged with Baoding Police College and changed its name to Beiyang Patrol Police College. In May of the third year of Xuantong (19 1 1), Beiyang Police Academy was merged into Baoding Police Academy. So far, Beiyang patrol school has trained police officers and policemen for 25 periods, with 3632 graduates.
Beiyang Police Academy had an important influence on police education in the late Qing Dynasty. On September 9th, the thirty-fourth year of Guangxu (1908 10 3), the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Qing Dynasty affirmed that the police patrol education in Tianjin was the first in China, which had a far-reaching impact on the police education in various provinces.
