Hunan Huaihua Square Dance

With the development of tourism, people like mysterious and niche attractions more and more, and the former site of the third-line factory slowly emerges in people's field of vision. The Third-Line Military Factory was founded in the mid-1960s in order to strengthen combat readiness, gradually change the layout of China's productive forces and make strategic adjustments from east to west. Elites from all walks of life bid farewell to their homeland and join in the third-line construction. Millions of people came to the mountains and dedicated their youth to this "digital factory" that needs to be kept secret.

In Dashan, Xiaoping Town, Chenxi County, Huaihua City, Hunan Province, there is an abandoned military factory-the state-owned Yuanjiang Machinery Factory, code-named "86 1 Factory". This is a real century-old enterprise, which can be traced back to Hubei Gun Factory in the late Qing Dynasty. 195 1 set up a factory in Xiaoping, Chenxi, and moved to Xiaoping in the spring of 1952. 1962 is divided into two independent enterprises, the Chenxi part is called Yuanjiang machinery factory, and the Xiangtan part is called Jiang Lu machinery factory; 1988, Yuanjiang Machinery Factory was renamed Baiyun Household Appliances General Factory.

Xiaoping is surrounded by mountains on three sides, far away from each other. The terrain is very hidden. At that time, the factory mainly produced aviation bombs. Entering Yuanjiang machinery factory needs to pass through a natural cave nearly 1000 meters long, accompanied by an underground river, and only one car can enter and exit. After entering the cave, the factory is surrounded by mountains, just like a washbasin, which is called "Xanadu". At that time, 10000 employees, nearly 50,000 family members and nearly 80,000 farmers lived here.

After 1989, 86 1 factory was unable to develop a new market economy, and the quality of refrigerators was also problematic. The output is declining year by year, and the general decline in benefits leads to the shutdown of factories, and the rapidly rising brands are rapidly declining. With the shutdown of the factory, many migrant workers began to return home, and the allocated houses were resold to nearby villagers.

There is also a statue of Zhang Zhidong in the square in front of the factory gate. Zhang Zhidong founded Hubei Gun Factory, the predecessor of 86 1 Factory. He single-handedly promoted the development of heavy industry in China, which is unforgettable. The workshop here has obvious architectural style of 1950s, with simple modeling and flexible composition. Now some have been transformed into internet cafes, and some are idle.

Walking into the living area of the factory, it still maintains the style of that era, and most of the dormitories are inhabited. Most of them belong to the peripheral neighborhood residential buildings, which are arranged in a crisscross grid along the road. The layout is reasonable and orderly, and some green spaces and open spaces for outdoor activities of residents are reserved next to it. The road is horizontal and vertical, and the left and right sides are Soviet-style buildings in the 1970 s and 1980 s. It is very charming to walk in it.

Arsenal's workers' club, a square Soviet-style building, and a golden "club" stand on the roof, which looks very imposing from a distance. The open-air basketball court in front of the club has become a place for uncles and aunts to exercise after dinner, and the song of square dance has already echoed over the playground. The military service organ still exists today, but it has been replaced by a shutter door, and the handwriting on the roof has disappeared in historical time with the passage of time.

1In August, 1998, Yun Jian Machinery Factory in Huaihua, Hunan Province was established on the original site, and in 2003, it was restructured into Hunan Yun Jian Group Co., Ltd., which brought this military enterprise back to people's field of vision again.
