"Flowers in the Water" uses the falling flowers to lament the passing of youth and the sadness and helplessness of passing through the world.
Perhaps it is an emotional memory, a kind of helplessness and nostalgia for the feelings that have passed away. Feelings and youth are gone forever like running water. We can no longer restore the beauty of the past. Even the most beautiful flowers will lose their color. In reality, I have gone through the baptism of time and become numb and silent to everything.
Background
"Flowers in the Water" is a song sung by Alan Tam in 1988. It has received great response in Hong Kong and mainland China. She also sang the Mandarin version of this song at the 1991 Spring Festival Gala.
Since the Spring Festival Gala can only sing the Mandarin version, and the songs cannot be too open, so of course Alan Tam stood in a suit in the center of the stage and sang this song. Alan Tam himself said that he was not used to it. Moreover, the lyrics of the song were changed a lot, and the Mandarin version was written by Wawa. Then he sang the famous song "Flowers in the Water" in very unfamiliar Mandarin.
