November 5, 2004: Japanese-language "VOCALOID" product "MEIKO" was released. This was the first Japanese-language "Vocaloid" product, produced by Crypton Future Media, with original vocals provided by singer Meiko Haiogo.

June 25: Official artwork for Hatsune Miku is revealed. a stand-up drawing by KEI called codename miku appears on Crypton's blog.
August 31: "VOCALOID 2 Hatsune Miku" was released. Voice actress Fujita Saki provided the original voice, launching the first installment of the CV series. And for the first time, the character's age, height, weight, and other information was set.
September 1: Due to out-of-stock issues, some netizens who ordered but did not receive the goods contributed a video titled "Hatsune Miku ga lai nai no de sne te imasu" on the N site. From the comments of the viewers, the name Wan Kap P (P for producer) was born. In this way, the producer of VOCALOID began to be called P-master.
