Expanded Information:

China formally acceded to the Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage on December 12, 1985; in 1986, China began to nominate World Heritage projects to UNESCO.

As of July 2, 2018, China's world heritage has reached 53 items, including 36 world cultural heritages, 4 dual world cultural and natural heritages, and 13 world natural heritages.

China is one of the countries with the most complete categories of World Heritage sites in the world, and also has the highest number of dual World Cultural and Natural Heritage sites (tied with Australia, both with 4) The 13 World Natural Heritage sites rank first surpassing the United States and Canada.?

China's capital, Beijing, has the highest number of heritage items in the world (7), and Suzhou is the only city in China to have hosted a World Heritage Committee meeting so far (28th session, 2004).

Cultural Heritage

Cultural heritage, conceptually, is divided into tangible and intangible cultural heritage. It includes tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
