Fengjing Town
Historical Geography: The ancient town of Fengjing was turned into a village in the first year of Liang Tianjian in the Northern and Southern Dynasties. It was originally called Bainiu Village. Chen Shunyu, a foreigner who was a field officer in the Song Dynasty, abandoned his official position and lived here in seclusion. Qingfengliangjie, also known as Qingfengjing. It was first established as a town between the Yuan Dynasty and the Yuan Dynasty. It was first called Bainiu Town, also known as "Fengxi". Because of the dense rivers in the town, the shape of the town resembles a lotus leaf, and there are many lotus flowers, it is commonly known as Furong Town.
The ancient town of Fengjing was once one of the four famous towns in the south of the Yangtze River. In the fifth year of Xuande in the Ming Dynasty, Fengjing took the boundary river as the line, and the town spanned the Wu Kingdom and the Yue Kingdom. It was divided into two towns, the south and the north. The south town belonged to Jiashan County, Jiaxing Prefecture, Zhejiang Province; the north town belonged to Huating County, Songjiang Prefecture, Jiangsu Province. , until the founding of New China, South Town was merged into North Town and placed under the jurisdiction of Shanghai City. It was collectively known as Fengjing Town, Songjiang County. In 1966, it was placed under the jurisdiction of Jinshan County (Jinshan District).
The ancient town of Fengjing has many rivers, bridges, temples, celebrities and lanes. It has a typical Jiangnan style, with more than 20 large and small rivers and more than 50 ancient bridges. It is known as "three steps, two steps". It is known as "a bridge with a view of ten ports". Among them, the Zhihe Bridge in the Yuan Dynasty has the longest history. There are more than 30 temples, the oldest of which is the "Wutong Zen Temple" dating back more than 1,800 years from the Three Kingdoms period, and the "Xingjue Temple" which is famous in the south of the Yangtze River and has a plaque written on it by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. The unique "bridges connecting temples and bridges within temples" add a treasure to the ancient town of Fengjing. The ancient town of Fengjing has a rich cultural heritage and numerous celebrities. There are 53 Jinshi and 125 people in the past dynasties. In the Song Dynasty, there was Chen Shunyu, a foreign minister in the field. In the Ming Dynasty, there was Chen Yicheng, the imperial doctor who accompanied Zheng He on his voyages to the West. In the Qing Dynasty, there was Cai Yitai, the number one scholar in the country. Zhu Xuefan, Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress, Gu Shuiru, a national Go player, Cheng Shifa, a master of traditional Chinese painting and president of the Shanghai Chinese Painting Academy, and Ding Cong, a cartoonist, etc. There are more than 20 lanes in the ancient town, ranging from 30 to 500 meters in length.
Lili Town
Geography: Lili Town is located in the southeast of Wujiang City, Jiangsu Province, 40 kilometers away from Suzhou City, and is located at the hub of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai. The Taipu River passes through the ancient town, connecting Fen Lake to the east and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal to the west. National Highway 318 and municipal highways crisscross each other, and land and water transportation is extremely developed. The town takes the city river as its main trunk and forms a double-sided riverside street with the city river as its development axis. Rivers, streets and alleys form the main skeleton of the ancient town space.
History: It was named Lihua Village in the late Tang Dynasty. It became a market in the Song Dynasty. Because it was beside the Grand Canal, it was once prosperous. It is the same as Tongli in Wujiang, Zhili in Wuxing, and Guli in Changshu,* ** called Jiangnan "Four Miles". In the Ming Dynasty, it became a giant town.
Humanities: Liu Yazi. A famous writer in modern times and one of the founders of the literary revolutionary group "Nanshe". He is the biggest reason why people know about Lili. The patriotic general of the Qing Dynasty finally died in the line of duty on the construction site of regulating the Yellow River. Xu Dayuan has been engaged in poetry and prose since childhood, is good at painting plum blossoms, and writes "Li Li Zhi". His collection of "Wisteria Flower House" spread overseas, and the Japanese regarded it as a treasure and placed it in a sacred temple. His wife Wu Shanshan is the author of "Shaoyunlou Poetry Collection". Ni Zheng, the proud son of contemporary Lili people, was honored as an international justice. As the only Chinese judge, he holds his head high in the United Nations International Court of Justice. The famous poets Lu Guimeng and Lu You also traveled to Lili Town to recite poems and write lyrics.
Cultural relics: Anlong, Hebu and Shuanchuanbi are the three major features of the ancient town. There are also many ancient bridges. Others include the former residence of Liu Yazi, Duanben Garden, Hongshou Hall, Luoya* Hall, and Lake Daoyuan, Zhougong Fu Temple, Dongsheng Church, Shaoyun Building, Step Back, Catholic Church, Christ Church, the former site of Yisang Literary and Art Research Society, the former site of the secret printing station of the Lili Branch of the Chinese Communist Party, the Chinese Communist Party The former site of the secret working point of the Dianshan Lake Working Committee.
Feelings: In 1994, I saw the name of this small town I was passing by on my way back to Shanghai. Out of curiosity, I went to the library to look up information about it, and from that I got to know the people I later met. Become Mr. Liu Yazi whom I admire. Although Lili is not the birthplace of Liu Yazi, it is the place where he grew up and engaged in literary and revolutionary activities. The ancient town is relatively well protected. The wide Taipu River, numerous and neat river ports, unique dark alleys, and numerous ancient bridges surprised me again and again. Unfortunately, due to the poor awareness of local people about protection, the corridors and sheds that were originally comparable to Xitang have been demolished intermittently, and the city river has become the final destination for domestic garbage. Some residential buildings in the Ming and Qing Dynasties have also been changed beyond recognition and appear very uncoordinated. Generally speaking, Lili has a quite rich historical landscape system and style landscape system. If it can be protected, its value will be no worse than that of the currently developed ancient towns.
Due to time constraints, I did not travel all the way. (Since there is no tourism development, many scenic spots need to be found by myself.) I will come back next time.
By the way, the high temperature today was really severe, and heat stroke during the journey was one of the reasons why I couldn’t continue.
Qiandeng Town
History: This is my first stop while walking through villages and towns. The reason why I chose Qiandeng as my first stop was more or less because of its name. Such a beautiful name gives me a lot of room to imagine this town. But in fact, its name is a mispronunciation passed down. It is said that when Wu and Yue were fighting for hegemony, beacon towers were built all the way from Suzhou. When the 1,000th pier was built, there were 1,000 piers. In this way, Qiandeng has a history of more than 2,000 years.
Geography: Affiliated to Kunshan City. It is connected to Shanghai Qingpu District in the south. The ancient town area is mainly distributed on the east and west sides of the Qiandengpu River, in a chessboard pattern with water and land running parallel to each other and adjacent rivers and streets. The main cultural relics are basically distributed on the stone streets.
Humanities: Are you familiar with the saying "every man is responsible for the rise and fall of the world"? Qiandeng is the hometown of Gu Yanwu, the great thinker who said this. Another person named Gu who grew up here? You may not have heard of Gu Jian, but you must be familiar with the thing he pioneered, which is Kun Opera.
Cultural relics: Shiban Street, Qinfeng Pagoda, Yanfu Temple, Gu Yanwu’s former residence and Tinglin Tomb, Shaoqing Mountain ruins, Ming and Qing buildings along the river, double wells, stone arch bridge
Feelings: The entire Qiandeng trip was carried out in heavy rain. He didn't bring an umbrella, and he didn't have time to take shelter from the rain, so you can imagine how embarrassed he looked. Fortunately, in return, Qiandeng showed me another scene of a small town in the south of the Yangtze River, with silent and empty alleys, smooth and shiny stone roads, hazy rivers and revetments, and people who kindly invited me to go inside to take shelter from the rain. local people. Unfortunately, the government has renovated or is renovating three of the five stone arch bridges. Gu Yanwu’s former residence began to imitate the Soviet-style garden and built a back garden. As for expanding the area of ??the back garden, I was stunned at that time anyway. . Yanfu Temple is collecting incense money, and the prototype of the new main hall under construction looks like a majestic shopping mall, but the remaining main hall has disappeared. For now, I have a pretty good impression of Qiandeng, but I don’t dare to think about the future.
Shaxi Town
Geography: Located in the middle of Taicang City, Jiangsu Province. It is connected to Jinlang Town in the east, Chengxiang Town in the south, Kunshan and Changshu in the west, and Guizhuang Town in the north. History: The town was founded in the late Yuan Dynasty. During the Ming Dynasty, the town became increasingly prosperous. High-ranking officials such as Cao Kui, the censor of Shanxi Dao, Su Zan, the censor of supervision, and Ye Yuchun, the doctor of the Ministry of Justice, built their mansions here one after another, making it a major town in Taicang. During the Republic of China, it was still a giant town. It is known as "the eighteen towns in the southeast and the first town in Shaxi".
Humanities: Shaxi Town was the first town to introduce Western culture. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, a number of literati went abroad to study. Historian Sang Yue, guqin player Xu Shangying, astrologer Gong Shumo, children's writer Gong Bao, modern dance pioneer Wu Xiaobang, and Kuomintang veteran Lu Jingshi.
Features: "The ancient alley is as wide as a house, the ancient street is three miles long, the ancient bridge is a single hole, the ancient houses all have beams, every household has carvings, every house has a long window, the bridge enters at the front door, and the boat "Dang in front of the door." This is the most authentic portrayal of the style of Shaxi Water Town.
Feelings: I am very happy that Feiyu, Poppy and Glass Man have joined this village and town tour. Our walking and attention are the power we can make to the ancient town. The cultural relic protection work in Shaxi is the worst among the villages and towns I have visited so far, but its current scenery is still one of the best I have ever seen. It is conceivable how rich historical heritage Shaxi once had. Its carved residential features are very rare among ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River. The historical value of its three ancient bridges even exceeds that of Zhouzhuang. It is not easy to preserve the three-mile long street so completely. If it is not protected, as we said on the way, half of the Shaxi will be destroyed, and the other half of the Shaxi will soon be destroyed. I hope everyone can, like Feiyu and others, pay a little attention to those ancient towns that are unknown and in danger.
Jinze Town
Geography: Jinze is 22 kilometers away from Qingpu City. It has the vast Dianshan Lake in the north, the Taipu River flowing into Jiangsu in the south, and Yuandang and other lakes and waters. . There is a city river flowing north-south through the town, with many tributaries coming together. The entire town covers an area of ??more than 140,000 acres, and the land area is only more than 12,000 acres. It is a typical Jiangnan water town. The locals regard water as a treasure, and there has long been a saying that "the water is as good as gold". This is the origin of the name of the town of Kanazawa. Jinze Town is the only town in Shanghai located at the junction of two provinces and one city.
History: There is relatively little information available about the history of Jinze Town, most of which are scattered in local folklore. Jinze began in the Song Dynasty and further prospered due to the Song Dynasty moving south. By the Yuan Dynasty, it reached its peak.
Cultural relics: The most important treasure of Kanazawa is the bridge. According to historical records, Kanazawa originally had "six temples, one pagoda, thirteen squares, and forty-two rainbow bridges", and there is a saying that "bridges have temples, temples have bridges", so it enjoys the reputation of "the first bridge town in the south of the Yangtze River" . There are 21 ancient bridges in the town, making it the town with the most preserved ancient bridges in Shanghai. Among them, Puji Bridge is the most complete and oldest single-hole stone arch bridge in Shanghai. The bridges with the most valuable cultural relics include: Yingxiang Bridge, Tianhuang Pavilion Bridge, Ruyi Bridge, Puji Bridge, Fangsheng Bridge, Wan'an Bridge, Tahui Bridge, Puqing Bridge, and Linlao Bridge
Religious Architecture : General Guan Temple, Yang Zhen Temple, Yihao Temple, Guandi Temple, Jesus Church
Old streets: Xiatang Street, Shangtang Street
Residential buildings: Xu Zhai, Chen Zhai, Chen's Warehouse, Zhu's House, Lu's House, and Wang's House
Old trees: small ginkgo trees in the temple and Gangdong ginkgo trees
Feeling: Kanazawa has very rich landscape resources, and They are also relatively well protected, which I had not thought of beforehand. Before going there, I unexpectedly found out a lot of folklore about Kanazawa's landscape, which shows that Kanazawa also has extremely rich cultural resources. Its value is definitely no less than that of Zhujiajiao. This is a real pearl hidden in the land of Jiangnan.
