In 1984, while studying at Taichung Youth High School, Luo Shifeng made his debut by participating in the "National Singing Celebrity Ranking" hosted by Li Jizhun. (Singers who debuted on the same program included Fang Wenlin, whose stage name was Fang Lin at the time, and Zhang Xiuqing, who was Luo Shifeng's schoolmate at the youth high school.)
The duo's 1985 hit song "Speechless Ending" with Lin Shurong quickly made them known to the public, and they became a perfect match. The song, which is close to the style of night market singing, tells the story of the love affairs of urban blue-collar men and women, with catchy lyrics and music, and in the era when Taiwan's KTV became popular, it became a regular winner on the jukebox charts, and was a memorable work for the fans. 1986's album "Fickle Face", which was sung in Mandarin, laid the foundation for Luo Shifeng's development in the singing industry.
In 1988, he published his first album in Southern Minnesota, "Dazed and Confused", the album's hit song "Dazed and Confused" has become one of his masterpieces. Since then, he has devoted himself to singing in Southern Minnesota.
In 1989, he entered the movie industry and acted in many movies such as "Pawns of the River" and "Heroes Turning Backward", etc. In 1989, he acted in "Wife Chasing" and "Flower Rui Loves Spring Breeze" and entered the TV industry.
In the 20th century, the market for Southern Minnesota pop music shrank, and with the record industry in the doldrums, Luo Shifeng's discography plummeted after 2000, but he still tried to publish albums of Hakka songs.
In 2000, he released "Thank You", which won him the Best Male Dialect Vocalist award at the 12th Golden Melody Awards in 2001; in the same year, he shifted his singing career to theater and hosting. Dedicated to the promotion of Hakka culture, he has been hosting Hakka TV's popular program "Hakka Beatdown" since 2003, and has also served as a producer for some of Hakka TV's TV dramas.
In 2003, he released the Minnan album "The Singer", which was shortlisted for the Best Taiwanese Male Vocalist award at the 15th Golden Melody Awards, and in 2005, he released the new Minnan album "Sad Stage", which was shortlisted for the Best Taiwanese Male Vocalist award at the 17th Golden Melody Awards. Since then, he has released more than 60 albums.
In 2011, after releasing his first Mandarin album in 1986, he finally released his Mandarin album "Love Again" after more than 20 years, and invited Lin Shurong, the female singer who sang with him in his hit song "Speechless Ending", to sing "Love Again".
In 2012, he released two albums, "A Song of Life" and "Luo Shifeng VS Nine and a Half Women" (also known as "Accompanying You to Your Old Age"), the latter of which is a duet album that Luo Shifeng has been working on for more than a decade; in the same year, he appeared in "The Old Man, the Old Car, the Old Friend", where he took on the challenge of playing a role from the middle-aged to the age of 80, with his left hand shriveling up and becoming deformed due to the scald he suffered as a child.
