History
History of Italian Football
Throughout the development of Italian soccer, they have constantly competed against strong rivals from all over the world, and their soccer has been like a carnival.
The English Enlightenment
The origins of modern Italian soccer were in the late 19th century, when English crews and traders brought the sport to Italy, the Italian Football Federation (FIFA) was proclaimed in 1898 and became a member of FIFA in 1905, and five years later, in their first international match, they beat France 5-2.
The first title
It took Italy quite a while to progress, and it wasn't until the 1930s that they were considered a powerhouse, during which time the Italian National League, which began in 1929, was a key factor, as well as the tactical innovations Pozzo brought to the side, which, thanks to the defensive excellence of Monti and excellence in front of goal, beat France 5-2 in the 1934 World Cup final on home soil. World Cup on home soil, beating Czechoslovakia 2-1 in the final to win their first ever title.
Successful defense
After winning the 1936 Berlin Olympics with a 2-1 win over Austria, Italy continued their success at the 1938 World Cup in France with a great defensive effort, with Piola scoring five goals in the Cup, including two in the 4-2 win over Hungary in the final.
The policy of banning foreigners
In the 30 years after the World Cup in France, Italian soccer was stagnant. During this period, there was a massive influx of foreigners into Serie A, and Italy pushed its defense to the limit. In order to save Italian soccer from a slump, in 1964 the Italian Football Federation (FIFA) made the decision to ban foreigners from playing in Serie A. The ban was not repealed until 1980. .
A Slow Revival
The ban on foreigners didn't have an immediate effect, as they were knocked out of the 1966 World Cup by North Korea, but two years later, they won the European Championships on home soil after beating Yugoslavia 2-1, and midfielders Rivera and Mazzoni were key to the team's resurgence, as they also helped Italy to reach the final of the 1970 World Cup in Mexico, but on that occasion they were the first to reach the final of the World Cup. World Cup final, though on that occasion they were beaten 1-4 by Brazil.
A third World Cup title
Four years after finishing 4th in 1978, Italy lifted the World Cup for a third time in Spain, this time with Rossi as the hero of the Italian team, with a total of **** six goals, including one in the 3-1 final win over the Federal Republic of Germany. In 1990 they had hopes of winning the cup again on home soil, but they were beaten by Maradona's Argentina in the semi-finals, and the tragedy continued in 1994 when they were beaten by Brazil on penalties and finished runners-up.
Depressing 2002
They were beaten in the final of the 2000 European Championships by France in the last minute with Wiltord and Trezeguet, and were runners-up again, and then went out of the 2002 World Cup in the 1/8 finals, so they were hoping for a repeat of their success in 2004.
2004 Italy were unlucky to be knocked out of their group at the European Championships, but a new superstar was born: Cassano, whose tears are destined to be remembered. Team name: Italy men's soccer team (itamsoc)

Head coach Lippi, whose style is very different from that of his predecessor, Trapattoni, and who has led an Italy team that hasn't lost a game in all competitions since losing to Iceland in his last stint, is regarded as one of the most positively aggressive Italian coaches in recent years in terms of style of play, relying on the Pirlo-Totti axis to create a more flamboyant and aggressive style of play. He is also regarded as the coach closest in temperament and personality to Bealzotte, who led Italy to the title in 1982.

On Italian soil was built the Roman Empire, the most influential empire in human history, and although Italy was only reunited in 1861, their culture and art have long spread throughout the rest of Europe, and their soccer has an equally large following. (Above, when Italy won the 1938 World Cup)
The Great Roman Empire
As early as around 1200 BC, Etruscan tribes ruled the Apennine Peninsula, and in 509 BC the lavish Roman Empire was established, and they spread the region's culture around the world. At the time, Rome's culture and political system were ahead of the rest of Europe, and the Roman had established his dominions in what is now England, Spain and even Iraq before being destroyed by the Goths.
The Exciting Renaissance
With the invasion of the Apennines by the Lombards, Franks, Germans and other "barbarians", Europe entered the "Dark Ages", and the civilization of Rome disappeared from view until the 14th and 15th centuries. It was not until the 14th and 15th centuries that the Renaissance movement began in the cities of Italy. But while the Renaissance guided the direction of Europe, Italy's influence was gradually overtaken by other countries, which needed to be reunited as one nation.
Splendor in soccer
In the field of soccer, Italy is also a world-class team that can not be ignored, during the Renaissance, Italy already had a similar sport, but it was not until the modern era that they embraced this modern soccer brought by England.
International success
After their first international victory, a 5-2 thrashing of France on May 15, 1910, Italy became a pivotal force in European soccer, winning three World Cups, in 1934, 1938 and 1982, as well as reaching the World Cup finals in 1970 and 1994, and in European Championships history, they also won the title in 1968. On the club scene, teams like Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan have also shown a determination to revitalize the prestige of the former Roman Empire. Did you know?
The first international match played by the Italian national team took place on May 15, 1910, when it beat France 6-2 in front of 4,000 spectators in Milan. Milan star Rana scored a hat-trick.
The team won the Copa Libertadores for the fourth time at the 18th FIFA World Cup in Germany in 2006.
Group stage history
Italy 2-0 Ghana Keywords: wonderful
39th minute, Totti left in front of the field opened a tactical corner, Pirlo outside the penalty area from the goal 26 meters from the ball, he first a trip, and then a powerful right-footed shot, the penalty area, Gilardino's back on the goal of the low head to let the ball flew into the lower right corner of the goal. In the 82nd minute, Pirlo broke the ball at the back of the field and sent straight, Kufuor and Yakunta scrambled in a clear error, he squeezed the position, the return pass to the goalkeeper is too light, Yakunta midway through the break and shook Kingston, and then pushed an empty left-footed shot to score.
In the first match, Italy, affected by a domestic match-fixing scandal, had a perfect start to the tournament, and Blatter had commented in an interview during the group stage that it was the best World Cup match he had ever seen. Lippi replicated Milan's tactical approach and Pirlo responded to questions about his form with an uptempo performance. And, of course, they have young, inexperienced Ghana to thank.
Italy 1-1 U.S. Keywords: oolong, red card
In the 22nd minute, Pirlo's free kick from the right touchline was lifted into the penalty area, and the U.S. made a mistake for offside, and Gilardino dived six meters from the goal to break the game open. In the 27th minute, Conway took a free kick from the right sideline, and Zaccardo, who was defending high center forward McBride at the back post, accidentally kicked the ball off his left foot, and the ball bounced off his right foot and into the net. 1-1. Just a minute after the goal, De Rossi intentionally elbowed McBride when he was scrambling for the top of the goal, and the referee showed him a red card, and McBride went off to the field to receive treatment for the bloodied McBride.
In the 44th minute, Mastroianni double-footed a front-facing shovel on Pirlo, and the referee again showed a direct red card In the 46th minute, Pope shoveled Guilardino from behind at the front of the box, and the referee showed a second yellow card to send him off, leaving the U.S. team with nine men.
The game tied the previous World Cup record for red cards, with De Rossi's red card entirely to blame, while the two red cards for the US team were the result of a killing spree. This game also has a tragic figure Zaccardo, if not for this oolong, he is likely to be the main identity to complete this World Cup, of course, Italy also have to thank this oolong, otherwise the great left back is likely to be unable to go on the field.
Italy 2-0 Czech keywords: Nesta
16th minute, Nesta pulled his thigh was replaced by Materazzi, this is not in the World Cup, but the achievement of Materazzi's fame. In the 25th minute, Totti's right corner kick into the penalty area, Materazzi 11 meters in front of the door, head shot, the ball bounced into the lower left corner of the goal, Cech failed to save, 1-0. 85 minutes, Italy to extend the lead, Perrotta straight ahead, the Czech Republic back to a huge gap, the big Inzaghi with the ball into the penalty area, he brought the ball over the attacking Cech, and then pushed his left foot into the empty goal.
Nesta continued his bad luck with injuries in big matches, but the accident gave Italy another hero: Materazzi. After being given a starting role, Materazzi's performance was astonishing, and he contributed greatly to Italy's eventual victory. Italy's greatest success in the group stage was not getting out of the Group of Death, but the accident that brought out two later heroes.
1/8 finals
Italy 1-0 Australia Keywords: "fake punt"
In the 50th minute, Bresciano broke through with the ball in front of the penalty area, and Materazzi fell to the ground and committed a flying foul. This action is dangerous and should get a yellow card, but the referee surprisingly gave a red card. In the 93rd minute, Grosso broke away from Bresciano's defense into the left side of the penalty area, Neal grabbed the ball first, Grosso tripped on Neal and fell to the ground, the referee awarded a penalty kick. Slow-motion TV showed that the referee's decision was questionable. Totti's right footed shot into the top left corner of the goal. Totti was delighted after the goal.
This is a game that Chinese fans are already familiar with, and I'm afraid that in another 10 years, they will never forget Huang Jianxiang's commentary. Italy played a very tough game, Grosso's last fall with some performance nature, it can be said that this is the ugliest game of the World Cup Italy.
Quarter-final
Italy 3-0 Ukraine Keywords: easy
In the 5th minute of the match, Italy took the lead, Zambrotta made a clever cooperation with Totti on the right side of the front field, Totti made a pass with his heel, and it was just at this time that the Ukrainian defender accidentally slipped and fell. Zambrotta cut in from the right and then fired a left-footed shot from 25 meters in front of the goal. Shufkovsky touched the ball but it still flew into the lower right corner of the goal. In the 58th minute, Italy extended their lead, Totti took a tactical corner kick from the left side of the field, Cannavaro missed his header, and Toni was able to get in front of Gusin and put his header into the lower left corner of the goal. In the 68th minute, Zambrotta received a direct feed from a teammate on the left, down the left side of the field and carried the ball horizontally, and then he went down on his left foot and shoveled a pass to Toni, who pushed a left-footed shot into the empty net from 6 meters in front of the goal.
It was one of Italy's easiest games, with only Sheva's Ukraine threatening Buffon's goal only in the opening moments of the second half, where Serie A's top scorer, Toni, finally opened the peace and scored twice.
Semi-finals
Italy 2-0 Germany Keywords: great left back
The two sides fought hard for 120 minutes, and it looked like it was about to go to the penalty shootout, which is what the Germans do best, but that's when a hero stepped up. In the 119th minute, Piero right corner kick into the penalty area, the German defenders to clear a mistake, Pirlo penalty area, he actually in the penalty area with the ball, very calmly right foot straight into the right side of the Grosso without stopping the ball, the right side of the penalty area from the goal 8 meters left-footed curved ball directly into the goal, although it is a small angle, but the ball with a strong rotation straight into the lower left corner of the goal, Lehmann struggled to save, or no way. This is an absolute dead center.
This time, it was really the great left back who took the credit, Grosso did not disappoint Huang Jianxiang's shout for him in the 1/8 final, he inherited the glorious tradition of the Italian left back, and perhaps Huang Jianxiang's commentary was the best interpretation of his performance. Piero's last-minute goal was just the icing on the cake.
Final
Italy 6-4 France (120 minutes 1-1 penalties 5-3) Keywords: penalties, Materazzi
The process of this game does not need to be repeated for everyone, the Italians a win to shatter two nightmares. First of all, they ended the history of the World Cup penalty kicks without winning, the last time they lost penalty kicks is exactly facing France, and the most critical that penalty kicks are exactly the same, the last time Di Biagio hit the crossbar, this time is Trezeguet. The key thing is that Italy will gain confidence from this penalty shootout in the future, as they hit all five of their penalties perfectly to end France's 28-year unbeaten streak against them.
The other key was Materazzi, who quickly made amends with a goal after a slight collision with Malouda led to a penalty in the opening half. In extra time, another counted to earn Zidane and help Italy equalize the deficit. Throughout the game, he accomplished a self-redemption and was a hero.
This game has not only become Zidane's closing battle, but also Totti and Nesta's two banners to bid farewell to the national team performance
