What kind of flower is edelweiss?

In the process of edelweiss blooming, I found that it has a thin stem, wrapped with gray fluff. Edelweiss is one of the famous alpine flowers, which originated in high altitude areas of Europe and is known as the famous flower in Alps. About 40 species of edelweiss are distributed in the Alps in Asia and Europe.

This kind of flower usually grows at the altitude of 1700 meters in the Alps, and it is extremely rare because it only grows on very few rock surfaces.

Edelweiss, also known as air grassland in China, was introduced to Yuxian County, Hebei Province. This kind of grass is called "edelweiss" locally. Because this kind of grass has a special taste, it is fed to animals, which are disgusted and refuse to eat it.

Before knowing that it is a kind of precious edelweiss, most people who come to "air grassland" will not pick this kind of flower, because its appearance is not dazzling at all, and it has no fragrance.

After learning that this flower is edelweiss, the local government took protective measures to prohibit grazing, and the yurts originally built on this grassland were also demolished.

After the discovery of edelweiss, the number of people coming to air grassland has greatly increased. With the fame brought by edelweiss, Yuxian has another name "the hometown of edelweiss" besides "the hometown of paper-cutting".
