The bird of paradise is just a tree, a big banyan tree, with an area of 15 mu. According to legend, four or five hundred years ago, a small mud mound was alluvial in the center of Tianma River, on which a small banyan tree grew. When banyan grows up, many drooping air roots grow on its trunk. After the air root touches the ground, it grows into a trunk. Year after year, it grows endlessly. This banyan tree continued to expand outward, but the original trunk rotted, so it became such a big banyan tree that could not find the trunk but had countless trunks intertwined. Since there is such a big tree, birds come naturally. The villagers think it is a blessing from heaven. Trees are feng shui trees and birds are divine birds, so trees grow under the protection of "gods" and birds regard it as their "paradise".
Birds of paradise mainly inhabit two kinds of birds: one is white crane, and the other is nocturnal crane (also called heron). White cranes leave early and return late, and night cranes leave late and return early. If you look at it in the morning and one night, you can see these two kinds of birds flying in and out alternately in droves. Occasionally, thousands of birds will suddenly rush out from the cracks in the trees, and a large area of darkness will be spectacular, amazing and cheering.
Every time I visit the bird of paradise, I always paddle my boat around the big banyan tree. At this time, people are very quiet in the shade of big trees. Especially around the back of the tree, the branches and leaves are not as dense and low as the morning sun facing south, and the boat can be freely inserted between the branches; If the boat stops, the breeze is Xu Lai, and there are euphemistic birds singing, you can quietly look at the tangled branches and watch the birds chase and play, which can not help but remind people of Tian Han's poem "The new tree is stronger than the old one, and the crane can sleep on the crane's bed".
It is said that white cranes and gray cranes can get along well. Every spring and autumn, they build nests and lay eggs. When the crane hatches, during the day, the white crane goes out for food, and the night crane takes care of the crane; At night, the nocturnal crane goes out for food, and the nocturnal crane is taken care of by the white crane. Sometimes, the eagle hovers in the sky, trying to rush down and take away the little crane. The big crane falls to the ground in the air and drives the eagle away.
