Why is the concept of old age in Japan so different from that of our elders?

The concept of old age in China is to have a sense of belonging. The majority of the elderly will choose to stay at home after retirement, bring their grandchildren, dance, play chess, enjoy the happiness of the family. In fact, this idea has been carried over from ancient times to the present day, we all feel that when you are young, you should work hard to earn money and do more while you can, so that you can lead a stable life when you are old. This is the general concept of old age for the elderly.

But the concept of the Japanese elderly is very different from ours. If you live in Japan, you'll see older people in every job. Is it because they don't have a pension? Or is aging too serious in Japan? Actually, it's not all. As for why old people keep working there are mainly because of these reasons.

First, they think it is shameful to get something for nothing. The idea that you can't eat without working is y rooted in traditional Japanese culture.

Second, aging is serious. The birth rate has fallen dramatically in recent years, and along with the plummeting childbearing population has come a parallel decline in the working-age population. A large number of labor positions are in short supply, and Japan is not an immigrant country. So it has to continue to hire older people, which is a no-brainer.

Third, the improvement of facilities for the elderly. Japan has researched many assistive devices for the elderly, and there are some technological products suitable for the elderly. Even the public **** place are set up specifically for the elderly seats. Nursing home services are also done to the extreme, nursing homes are divided into public and private, according to each person's situation can choose the appropriate nursing home.

But good nursing homes are also expensive. And there is no tradition in Japan for children to provide for the elderly in their old age, they rely on their own income and efforts. So going to work when you retire is just for your own peace of mind in the future.
