Myth of Aries
From the story "The Quest for the Golden Fleece" by the Greek poet Epollonius of Rhodes in the third century AD.
The Greek king Arthur Maslin married Ina, the princess of Derbes, who wanted to murder
Prince Phrixos so that her son could inherit the throne in the future.
Ina gathered the seeds of all the grains in the country and secretly boiled them before distributing them to the people. As a result, the grains naturally
couldn't grow and the country was plunged into famine; she also conspired with the messengers from the temple, claiming that it was the anger of the gods, and that she had to sacrifice Prince
Flixos in order to quell the famine.
The king finally listened to Ina, and when the prince was brought to the altar, the angel of the gods, Hamish,
accepted the request of the prince's mother and sent a ram with golden wool and wings from the sky to carry the prince from the altar and together they crossed the Dardanelles and landed in Kerchis on the edge of the Black Sea, which is the worst place in the world.
Phrixus, grateful for his rescue, sacrificed the white sheep to Zeus, the head of the gods, and gave the golden fleece to the king of Chersones.
This sheep is the origin of the current constellation Aries, symbolizing bravery and wisdom.
Virgo Myth
Demeter, the Greek goddess of the earth, who was the god of grain, had a beautiful only daughter, Persephone, who was
"the most beautiful god of spring," and wherever she stepped, flowers bloomed in all their splendor. One day, she and her companions were
picking flowers in a meadow in the valley, when suddenly she saw a silver daffodil, its sweet fragrance wafting through the air,
Poisserine thought to herself, "This flower is prettier than any other!
The flower was more beautiful than any other flower, so she sneaked closer to it, far away from her companions, and reached out her hand to touch the flower, when suddenly a hole opened in the ground, and a carriage, drawn by two black horses, rushed out of the ground, and it turned out to be the king of the underworld, Hai Shi, who was in love with Persephone, and set up a trick to take her away.
Poisserpine's cries for help echoed through the valleys and oceans, and of course, reached her mother, Dimitri, who was very sad.
She left her grain to be harvested and flew across the mountains to find her daughter.
Without Mother Earth, seeds no longer germinate, the fertile ground fails to produce bunches of wheat, and the human race starves to death. Zeus
Seeing this situation, he ordered the king of Hades to release Proserpine, and the king had to obey Zeus, but secretly he had a trick, and before leaving, he gave Proserpine
a piece of fruit, how did Proserpine know that once she ate the fruit, she could not live on earth, and she was destined to go back to the dark and stinking hell.
Zeus had no choice but to say: "You will have a quarter of a year to be with Persephone." From then on, as long as
The earth was covered with frost, and Persephone went to hell. Virgo symbolizes the beauty and purity of Proserpine, the goddess of spring, and the ears of wheat raised by her mother, which she holds in her hand.
Taurus myth
One day, the god Zeus wandered on earth, passing through a country, suddenly saw the princess of this country is very beautiful, so Zeus did not know
Unconsciously look out of God. After returning to heaven, Zeus was still obsessed with this beautiful princess. In the country where the princess belonged,
there was a very big and beautiful pasture, in which there were so many cows eating breakfast and playing, and the princess would often come to this pasture to play with these
groups of lovely cows.
On one fine morning, the princess was still in the pasture. While she was having fun with the cows, she suddenly noticed
that among the cows, there was a special singing cow, whose voice was so beautiful and melodious that the princess was attracted to walk towards it.
As soon as she saw the cow, she fell in love with it. Not only did it sing perfectly, but it looked just as good.
While the princess was slowly leaning on the cow and singing along with it, the cow suddenly picked up the princess and flew off into the sky.
After a long flight, the cow finally stopped in a beautiful land, and then transformed into a human being, expressing its
admiration to the princess. It turns out that the bull is the incarnation of Zeus, the god of the heavens, and because he could not suppress his thoughts of the princess day and night, he decided to come to the princess to express his love.
The beautiful princess then accepted the love of Zeus, the two returned to the sky together, and Zeus in honor of the confession of the place, the princess's name
Europa as the name of the land. That land is the continent of Europe today.
The myth of Taurus is the only one of the twelve signs of the Zodiac that depicts a story of love, shattering the common misconception that Taurus lacks romance.
The Cancer myth
Sensitive and affectionate, Cancer is a maternal symbol, arms around the chest, the baby in the arms represents the helpless and fragile self, and the arms around the arms
indicates the strong sense of self-protection of Cancer.
A story from Greek mythology emphasizes the aggressiveness of Cancer.
Hercules was the mortal son of Zeus, whom the queen of the heavens, Hera, repeatedly put to death.
Hercules was also the greatest hero of Greece,
the strongest man in the world, there was nothing he couldn't do, and even the gods relied on him to conquer the giants, but of course,
Hercules did a lot of work for the gods. One day, he arrived in the kingdom of Messini and was about to be given a hero's welcome when the king, at the behest of Sheila, gave him the difficult task of slaying the Hydra that lived in the swamps, a difficult task because every head that was cut off would give birth to countless others.
Hercules thought of a way ---- to use fire to scorch the heads of the snakes, and so easily solved the eight heads of the snakes, and saw that only the last one was left, Sheila
in the sky angry angry, "Is this time to fail again?" She was not happy! With a huge crab called from the sea to hinder
Her force. The giant crab stretched out its powerful double crabs to pinch Hurley's feet, but everyone knew that Hurley was the strongest man in the world!
The crab died from Ruk's brute force.
Sheila failed again, but felt a sense of solidarity with the crab's sacrifice, and in gratitude for the crab's final mission, even though it didn't
succeed, Sheila placed it in the sky, where it became the current constellation of Cancer.
Myth of Scorpio
Scorpio is austere and introverted, as its name suggests.
In Greek mythology, the shepherd god was in charge of Zeus' sheep and cattle, and his name was Pan.
Pain was ugly, almost hideous. He had two horns on his head and a goat's hoof on the lower part of his body where his feet should be.
This ugly appearance made the shepherd god Phen so embarrassed and inferior that he could not sing with the gods. Who would have known that underneath the ugly exterior there was a passionate and passionate heart?
This was the first time he had ever been in the presence of the gods. Day and night, he could only play the wind instrument to ease his heart's sorrow.
One day, the gods gathered together to drink and laugh, and Zeus, knowing that Penn was a good whistler, summoned him to play for the gods
to cheer them up.
When the beautiful sound of the Xiao murmured in the forest, the wilderness, the gods and goblins are with the song of intoxication, the other
head of the forest, a multi-headed 100-eyed beast is whistling in the sky, mountains and seas, the fairies were scared of the blossom of the color, they have to put down their hands in the instrument turned into
a butterfly fluttering and go. And the gods also do not care about the hand full of wine, some turned into a bird wings and go, some simply into a
dao light smoke, disappeared without a trace.
While the shepherd god Penn, watched the gods fleeing and escaping, he was still hesitant to decide "what to become to escape? Finally he decided
to become a fish and jumped into a stream. But the stream he chose was too shallow to accommodate his huge body, so his lower body
became a fish's tail while his upper body remained a goat's head.
The fishtail of the goat in Scorpio symbolizes its shyness.
The Myth of Sagittarius
On the steppes of ancient Greece, there ran a race of half-man, half-animal. This is a fierce group of people." Half man, half beast" represents
The struggle between rationality and irrationality, between humanity and animalism, this is the "Centauri".
There was one exception in the Centaurs, Chiron, who was also a member of the Centaurs, but he was kind by nature and known for his frankness in dealing with his friends, so Chiron
was very much respected in the tribe. One day, Greece's greatest hero, Hercules ----, a super-sized
Rex, who had strangled a serpent with both hands at a young age, came to visit his friend. Upon hearing that the Centaurs were also a nation that specialized in brewing wine, he thought of the delicious wine and, regardless of the fact that the wine was the property of the Centaurs
Blame***, he forced his friend to steal it for his enjoyment, or else he would beat him to death. Everyone knew that Hercules was the strongest man in the world,
even Apollo, the god of the sun, had to give him a break, so the Centaur had no choice but to do what he wanted.
While Hercules was intoxicated by the aroma of the wine, the scent of the wine filled the entire tribe, and all the Centaurs rebuked Hercules.
Hercules was furious and chased the Centaurs with his bow, and they fled to the home of the most respected member of the tribe, Kieran. At that moment
Chirren heard the sound of hooves stampeding outside the house and a cry for help, he didn't even think about it, he opened the door and ran out, Hurley pulled his bow full and instantly
sent out a sharp arrow, which struck Chirren in the heart. The good and innocent Kieran sacrificed his life for his friend.
The god Zeus heard the cries of the Centaurs, so he picked up the body of Kieran with both hands and threw it into the sky, Kieran instantly transformed into a number of shining stars,
shaped like the Centaurs. From then on, in honor of Chiron, the constellation was called Sagittarius, or Sagittarius, as we call it.
Leo Myth
The kingly spirit of fighting head-on against a challenger is the symbol of Leo, and it is said that the origin of Leo is related to Hurley.
Hercules was the illegitimate son of Zeus and mortals, he was born with incomparable divine power, and the Queen of Heaven, Sheila, was jealous.
When Hercules was a baby, she put two giant snakes in his cradle, hoping to bite him to death, but Hercules grinned and held them to death,
and from the time he was a baby, Hercules was regarded as "the greatest hero of mankind".
Shira, of course, didn't give up on the idea of killing Hercules just because she failed once. She used her sorcery to make Hercules go mad and beat his wife,
Hercules woke up with a deep sense of remorse and decided to take austerity as a means of purging himself of his sins. He came to Messene and asked the king to give him tasks,
and the king, at the behest of Sheila, gave him twelve difficult tasks to accomplish in twelve days, one of which was to
kill a man-eating lion.
The lion lived in the forest. Hurley went into the forest to look for it, but the forest was silent, all the animals, birds, deer, squirrels
were eaten by the lion, and Hurley was tired of looking for it, so he dozed off to sleep. At that moment, a huge lion came out of a cave with a double opening and Hurley opened his eyes and saw, oh my! The man-eating lion was five times the size of a normal lion, and its body was covered with animal blood, adding to the horror.
Her force first used the arrow to shoot it, and then hit it with a wooden stick, but it is useless, the huge lion is invulnerable, and finally Her force and the lion as long as the physical combat, the process
Very grueling, but in the end, or strangled the lion with brute force.
The lion died, but Shira honored its courage in fighting Hercules by throwing it into the air and turning it into Leo.
Pisces Myth
Venus, the goddess of beauty, took her beloved son, Cupid, and dressed up for a lavish banquet. At this banquet, all
participants were gods and goddesses, and it was called a "feast of the gods and goddesses".
The goddesses were all dressed up in their finery, not wanting to be outdone by the others, and the men were all talking in groups with a glass of wine in each hand.
The children have been playing hide-and-seek for a long time, and they have been very naughty.
While the party was reaching its climax, and everyone was intoxicated by the delicious food and rich wine, an uninvited guest suddenly came and spoiled
the whole atmosphere of the party.
This uninvited guest, with his hideous appearance and evil heart, appeared at the banquet with the purpose of destroying it, and he had obviously
achieved that purpose.
He reached out and overturned tables of food, threw potted flowers into pools of water, and performed horrific feats that terrified every attendee in the room.
Everyone began to run around, screaming and crying as a beautiful party turned into a panic.
Then Venus suddenly realized that Cupid had disappeared, and she searched everywhere, not caring about the presence of the uninvited guest. Venus
searched all corners of the banquet, and finally found Cupid under the piano, trembling with fear, and Venus lovingly held Cupid
tightly in her arms.
In order to prevent Cupid from being separated from her again, Venus thought of a way to escape from the dreadful party by tying their feet together with a piece of rope and turning them into two
fish.
The two fish are now the origin of the constellation Pisces, symbolizing love and delicacy.
The Gemini myth
Princess Rita had many lovely children, including another brother who was not only very affectionate, but also looked so much alike that it was easy to think they were twins.
In fact, in these two brothers, the older brother is Lida Princess also the son of the god Zeus, and the younger brother was born with the king of Basta, the two people for
homozygous half-brothers. The older brother was a "god" and had eternal life, while the younger brother was an ordinary man.
One day, Greece was attacked by a huge boar, and the princes summoned many warriors to hunt down the boar. When the boar was successfully killed,
the warriors were in a state of mutual hatred, as they competed with each other for the honor of killing the boar.
On one occasion in the marketplace, the two warriors who saw each other in an unfavorable light met each other, and of course, they had a quarrel. In the middle of the fight,
some people started to fight, and the situation became so uncontrollable that many people were injured or even killed in the fight. Unfortunately, the brother of one of the two princes was also killed in the chaos.
The elder brother, who had always been very close to his brother, cried bitterly at his brother's corpse and hoped that his brother could be brought back to life, so that the two of them could
re-enjoy the joyous days of the old brotherhood together.
So the brother went back to the sky and asked his father, Zeus, to bring his brother back to life. But Zeus told him that his brother was just an ordinary man,
and that he was going to die, and that if he really wanted to bring his brother back to life, he would have to share the rest of his life with his brother. The older brother, who was y attached to the younger brother, of course agreed without hesitation,
and from then on, the two brothers were able to live happily together again.
This is the origin of Gemini.
The myth of Aquarius
In the city of Troy, there lived a handsome prince. He was so handsome that even the most beautiful women in the city couldn't bear to look at him.
One day, a banquet was to be held in the world of the gods, but the girl who poured the wine for Zeus was injured, so there was no one to replace her, but the girls who were introduced to him,
Zeus wasn't very satisfied.
One day the god Apollo came to Troy and saw the handsome prince playing with the courtesans. He thought to himself that there was such a handsome prince on earth,
So Apollo went back to the gods and reported what he had seen in Troy to Zeus, who found it unbelievable and wanted to see the Trojan prince with his own eyes.
After Zeus saw the Trojan prince, he thought about him every day, so Zeus had an evil idea brewing in his heart. Zeus came to Troy again.
When the Trojan prince was alone, Zeus turned into a big eagle and grabbed the prince when he was not looking back to the god world.
When the Trojan prince came to the world of gods, Zeus asked him to take the place of the wounded girl to pour wine for Zeus, and the prince had no choice but to stay in the world of gods.
The prince misses his home and his family, and the king of Troy misses the prince and wonders where he has gone. Zeus saw that the prince was losing weight day by day,
and began to feel ashamed, so he sent a dream to the king to tell him how the prince was in the world of gods. In order to comfort the king, he gave him some horses as a token of his appreciation.
At last, Zeus allowed the prince to return to Troy to see the king once in a while, and then he returned to the world of the gods to do the job of pouring wine for Zeus. The prince became a water bottle,
and was responsible for pouring wine for Zeus. Whenever you look at the stars at night, you can see a sparkling astrological sign of a flask pouring wine.
LIBRA MYTH
In Greek mythology, in ancient times, humans and gods lived together on earth in peace and happiness. However, mankind became more and more intelligent and
not only learned to build houses and pave roads, but also learned to fight, cheat and other bad habits, so the gods could not stand it and left
human beings and returned to live in the sky.
But among the gods, there is a goddess who represents justice and is not discouraged by human nature and still lives with humans. However, the human race
went from strength to strength, and there were wars and killings. In the end, even the Goddess of Justice couldn't take it anymore and decided to move
back to the sky. But this did not mean that she despaired of mankind, she still believed that mankind would one day come to its senses and return to its old nature of goodness and innocence.
Goddess of Justice, back in heaven, met Poseidon one day, who laughed at her foolish trust in mankind, and the two of them got into a heated debate. During the debate, Lady Justice felt that Poseidon had insulted her and had to apologize to her. Poseidon disagreed, and the two were locked in a stalemate that led to a lawsuit
against Zeus.
This situation made Zeus feel very difficult, because the goddess of justice is his own daughter, and the god of the sea is his own brother, can not favor either side.
While Zeus was troubled by this, the queen made a timely suggestion, asking Poseidon to compete with Lady Justice, and whoever won would apologize to the other.
The match was held in the square of the heavenly court, and Poseidon started first. Poseidon swung his club at the wall, and water flowed out of the cracks in a very beautiful way
. Then the goddess of justice transformed into a tree with a reddish-brown trunk, green leaves with golden olive remains, and most importantly,
anyone who looked at the tree felt love and peace. The game was over, and Poseidon conceded defeat.
To commemorate the end, Zeus threw the scale he carried with him into the sky, which became the present-day constellation Libra.
Scorpio Myth
Barodon, the son of Apollo, the sun god, was naturally beautiful and sensual. He was conceited and arrogant, and his overbearing personality often caused him to
inadvertently offend many people. One day, a man told Banoton, "You are not the son of the Sun God!" He laughed and left. How could the strong-minded
Banodon swallow his words and asked his mother, "Am I not the son of Apollo?" But no matter how much his mother assured him that he was indeed the son of Apollo, he still did not believe her. The mother then said, "The man who made fun of you is the son of Zeus, a man of high rank, and if you still don't believe me, then
ask Apollo, the god of the sun, himself!"
Apollo, hearing his son's doubts, laughed and said, "Don't listen to them, of course you are my son!"
Banedon still insisted on not believing, in fact, of course he knew that the sun god never lies, but he had another purpose.
Barodon demanded to drive his father's solar chariot to prove that he was Apollo's son." How can this be?" Apollo was horrified, the sun is the master of all things
and carelessness can lead to catastrophe, but you can't argue with Banoton, Apollo was talking about how to drive the solar car on a certain track,
Banoton was so high and mighty that he didn't even listen and immediately jumped into the car and sped off.
As a result, Banoton's recklessness caused people, animals and plants on the earth to die of either heat or cold, and messed up the time of day, making the sky dark and the air full of complaints.
The gods tried to stop Barodon by releasing a poisonous scorpion from the queen of the heavens and biting him on the ankle, while Zeus struck Barodon with a terrible thunderbolt
and he fell to the ground with a scream.
Peace was restored to the earth, and in honor of the scorpion who was also killed by the lightning, the constellation was named Scorpio.
The origin of the twelve constellations
The origin of the constellations is well-documented in ancient Babylon, where 30 constellations were proposed by the Babylonians around 1000 BC.
After the Two Rivers Valley culture (the area around ancient Babylon) spread to Greece, ancient Greek astronomers supplemented and developed the Babylonian constellations and compiled the ancient Greek constellation list. The Ancient Greek astronomer Ptolemais synthesized the astronomical achievements of his time and compiled 48 constellations.
After the Middle Ages, the rise of European capitalism and the need for outward expansion led to the great development of navigation. Ships sailing on the sea, the need to navigate at any time, the stars are the best guiding light. And among the stars, the shape of the constellations is more special and easiest to observe, therefore, the constellations have received general attention.16 When Magellan actually sailed around the world, he not only utilized the constellations to navigate and orient himself, but also conducted research on the constellations.
In 1922, the General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union decided to divide the sky into 88 constellations, whose names are basically in accordance with the historical names. 1928, the International Astronomical Union officially announced the names of the 88 constellations. These 88 constellations are divided into 3 sky regions, 29 in the northern hemisphere, 47 in the southern hemisphere, and 12 near the ecliptic.
The constellations we usually talk about are the 12 constellations on the ecliptic. They each have some myths and legends about themselves.
In ancient times, in order to make it easier to identify the location and observe the sky when sailing, the stars scattered in the sky were linked together by imagination, and half of them were named in ancient times, according to the myths of the ancient civilizations and shapes (including Mesopotamian, Babylonian, Egyptian, and Greek myths and epics). The other half (mostly in the southern hemisphere's night sky) are more recent, often named after nautical instruments.
In ancient times the stars were viewed differently because of geographical differences! Now the world has been unified according to the constellation map will be divided into eighty-eight regions of the sky eighty-eight constellations.
We generally talk about the "constellations" (Sign), refers to the "sun constellations" (Sunsign); that is, the center of the people on the Earth, at the same time to see the sun running to the orbit (Greek Zodiac: that is, animals), and also known as the sun. Around the circle, also known as the "ecliptic") on which the position of the constellation, it is said that the person is what sign.
More than 2,000 years ago, the Greek astronomer Hipparchus (190-120 B.C.E.), in order to indicate the position of the Sun in the ecliptic, divided the ecliptic into twelve zones, with the equinoxes at 0°, and counting from the equinoxes (i.e., the zero degree of the ecliptic), every 30° for a house, and named the major constellations contained in the palaces in the order they were named at that time as Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Gemini, Chiron, and Aries. The houses of Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Lion, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, etc., are called the 12 houses of the ecliptic, totaling twelve star groups. Babies born at the time of the Earth's revolution into each of these houses (star groups) will always grow up with a number of similar characteristics, including behavioral traits, personality traits, etc. These associations (rich in imagination and creativity) were linked together to crystallize the humanity of these star clusters; and with the addition of mythology, they became an important part of culture (mainly Greek and Roman mythology).
These twelve constellations represent the evolution of this numerology, which has been passed down for at least 5,000 years. But these constellations do not mean a particular "star", but can only be regarded as "a representative sign with the same name".

Aries
Every year in mid-December at eight or nine o'clock in the evening, the constellation Aries is over our heads. It's a very faint little constellation, with only the 2.3m alpha and 2.7m beta stars right next to each other in it being slightly more prominent.
The four stars of Pegasus and Andromeda in the fall sky form a large box, and a straight line leading from the two stars north of the box, extending eastward by a distance of one and a half times, reveals Aries.
Taurus
In the winter in the sky area not far northwest of Orion, there is a very bright 0.86m star (in the whole sky bright stars ranked thirteenth), it is Taurus alpha, China's ancient called it Bijou five.
Taurus is also known as one of the twelve constellations of the ecliptic, and Bijou five is located in the vicinity of the ecliptic, it and the same in the ecliptic in the vicinity of Leo Regulus XIV, Scorpio's heart of the second, the Southern Fish of the northern fall of the division of the door and other four bright stars, in the celestial sphere of the difference of about 90 °, exactly one in each season, they are collectively referred to as the ecliptic belt of the "four heavenly kings! ".
The most famous object in Taurus is the "two star clusters plus a nebula".
Connecting Gamma Orionis and Bijou V, and extending about double the distance to the northwest, there is a famous sparse star cluster, the Pleiades. People with good eyesight can see seven bright stars in this cluster, so it was also called "seven clusters of stars" in ancient China. The Pleiades are 417 light-years away from us, and it is 13 light-years in diameter. With a large telescope, you can see that there are more than 280 stars in the Pleiades.
Another sparse star cluster is called the Pythagorean Cluster, which is located near Pythagoras V, but Pythagoras V is not a member of it. At 143 light-years away, the Bi Cluster is the closest star cluster to us. You can see 5 or 6 stars in the Bi Cluster with the naked eye, but it actually has about 300 members.
Near ζ Tauri is a famous large nebula, which a British astronomer named the Crab Nebula after its shape. Astronomers in this century have deduced that the Crab Nebula is the product of a supernova explosion in 1054. The 1054 supernova outburst is well documented in our ancient astronomical literature.
Gemini
Extending the line between stars β and α Orionis toward the northeast, one can encounter two bright stars not far apart, the brighter of which is β Gemini at magnitude 1.14. The slightly fainter one is β Geminorum. The slightly fainter star is α Gemini, with a brightness of 1.97 mag. The string of stars τ, ε, μ starting from α and the other string of stars δ, ζ, γ starting from β are almost parallel to each other, and they are visualized as two friendly brothers, Castor and Puljuks.
The younger brother, star β, known in ancient China as "Beihe San", is, on the contrary, a little brighter than the older brother, star α, which is the seventeenth brightest star in the sky. The elder brother, star α, called "Beihe Er" in ancient China, was the first recognized double star in the history of astronomy. To be precise, it is a "hexagram" of six stars. Interestingly, the younger brother, Beihe San, is also a hexagram, so the two brothers are really twins, and they look so much alike!
Cancer
Spring Cancer in the west of Leo, north of the head of the Serpent, is the twelve constellations of the zodiac in the dimmest one, the brightest star in the constellation is only 3.8m, can not see the shape of the crab, which may be because of the Hercules of the baton early to smash it to pieces. That's it, and it's still clinging to the Long Serpent, woefully out of shape!
Near the star δ in the center of Cancer (or between the two bright stars Regulus XIV in Leo and β in Gemini), people with good eyesight can see a small white mist, which is described in the ancient books of our country as, "Like a cloud is not a cloud, such as a star is not a star, see the gas only." Until the invention of the telescope after the people observed, it was a star cluster, astronomy called "Beehive Cluster". This cluster has more than 200 members and is 520 light-years away.
Astronomy divides star clusters into two categories, the "globular clusters" like those in the constellation Vulcain, and the Beehive Cluster belongs to another category called "sparse clusters". These clusters are irregularly shaped and are generally found on the silver disk. Astronomers have found more than 1,000 clusters in the Milky Way, and they estimate that there must be more than 10,000 clusters in the entire Milky Way.
Leo
Leo was mentioned in the introduction to the constellations of Mako and Virgo in the spring night sky. The Beta star of Leo, the Great Horn of Mako, and the First Horn of Virgo make up the important "Spring Triangle" of the spring night.
Leo is also a sign of the zodiac. Due to the age difference, the Sun's apparent motion passed through Leo in June every year more than 4,000 years ago. (Nowadays, in June, the Sun's apparent motion is between Taurus and Gemini.) At that time, the people of Chaldea, an ancient kingdom on the Persian Gulf, believed that the sun was getting a lot of heat from Leo, and that's why the weather was getting hot. The ancient Egyptians felt the same way because at this time of year, many lions migrated to the Nile Valley to escape the heat.
Leo was so worshipped in ancient Egypt that the famous Sphinx is said to have been molded from the body of this lion with the head of a chamber maiden. The stars in Leo were also highly valued in our ancient times, and our ancients likened them to the god of the Yellow Emperor, called Regulus.
After we find the star β Leo through the Spring Grand Trine on a spring night, a large swath of stars to the east of it, are all in Leo. In Leo, δ, θ, β three stars form a very remarkable triangle, which is the lion's hind body and tail; from ε to α these six stars form the shape of a sickle, but also like a reverse written question mark, which is the lion's head, connecting the Ursa Major's finger pole star (i.e., the two stars in the mouth of the spoon) to the opposite direction of the Polaris, it can be found. α star in our country is called Regulus XIV, which is the apparent magnitude of 1.35 It is the brightest star in Leo and the twenty-first brightest star in the whole day. It forms an isosceles triangle with the Great Horn and the Horned Host I. It can be found by extending δ and γ stars of Ursa Major to ten times farther away. In ancient times, mariners often use it to determine the position of the ship in the sea, so α Leo was awarded the title of "one of the nine stars of navigation".
Regulus 14 Leo is located near the ecliptic, it and the same in the ecliptic near the Taurus Bijou five, Scorpio's heart of the second and the South Fish of the northern fall of the Division of the door a **** four bright stars in the celestial sphere, the difference of about 90 °, exactly one per season, they are known as the ecliptic belt of the "four heavenly kings".
Every year in mid-November, especially on the nights of 14 and 15, there will be a large number of meteors near the star ζ in Leo with a question mark written backwards, which is the famous Leonid meteor shower. It appears at its peak about once every 33 years, and its peak was recorded as early as 931 A.D. during the Five Dynasties period in China. At its peak in 1833, meteors erupted like fireworks near the star ζ, tens of thousands per hour. So much so that the next night a farmer rushed outside his house to see if all the stars had fallen out of the sky.
Leo was mentioned when the constellations of Mako and Virgo, the stars of the spring night sky, were introduced. The beta star of Leo, the Great Horn of Mako, and the Horn of Virgo form an important "Spring Triangle" in the spring night.
Leo is also a sign of the zodiac. Due to the age difference, the Sun's apparent motion passed through Leo in June every year more than 4,000 years ago. (Nowadays, in June, the Sun's apparent motion is between Taurus and Gemini.)
