"Children's Poems" by Bing Xin

Bing Xin’s Poems

1. "Mother"

Mother!

The storm in the sky is coming,

The bird hides in its nest;

The storm in the heart is coming,

I Just hide in your arms.

2. "Paper Boat"

- To the Mother

I never abandon a piece of paper,

Always Keep it - keep it,

fold it into a small boat,

throw it into the sea from the boat.

Some were blown into the windows of the boat by the wind,

Some were wetted by the waves and stuck to the bow of the boat.

I still keep folding them every day without getting discouraged.

I always hope that one of them will flow to where I want it to go.

Mother, if you see a small white boat in your dream,

don’t be surprised that it came into your dream for no reason.

This is what your beloved daughter folded with tears in her eyes,

I beg it to carry her love and sorrow back home.

Eight, twenty-seven, 1923, in a boat in the Pacific Ocean.

3. "The Flower of Success"

The flower of success,

People are only amazed by her current beauty!

However, her Ya'er was

soaked in the tears of struggle,

sprinkled with the blood of sacrifice.

Green buds

Green buds,

Say to the young people:

"Develop yourself!"

Pale white flowers,

Say to the young man:

"Contribute yourself!"

Deep red fruits,

He said to the young man:

"Sacrifice yourself!"

4. Excerpt from "Stars"

(1)

The stars are twinkling -

The deep blue space

How can I hear their conversation?

In silence

In the glimmer of light

They praised each other deeply.

(5)

Darkness

How to describe it?

The depths of the soul

The depths of the universe

A resting place in brilliant light.

(8)

Broken flowers adorn the branches

The birds flew away.

The ground was sprinkled with red -

Is life also such a glimpse?

(Nine-eight)

Young people!

Just believe in yourself!

Only you are real,

Only you can create yourself.

(103)

Time!

Me now

Am I too sorry for you?

But what I leave behind is temporary

What I seek is eternal.
