Why don't American moms square dance?

Is it really true that square-dancing moms go there just to dance? I'm afraid only a very small percentage.

My observation is that most of them do it for the sense of belonging to a group. When you look at them closely, they don't care about the dance moves or the comments of others, and they don't usually "jump ship" just because another team is doing better, but prefer to hang out with some of their older sisters, even if they're all dancing like electrified frogs and being hilarious.

In fact, there is a phenomenon that is similar: many securities companies, trading day during the day, always crowded with a lot of older people. They seem to be watching stocks and commenting on the market, but in fact it is just to have a group that can facilitate communication.

Because people are old, a lot of thinking will not be able to keep up with the times, coupled with retirement, many old colleagues and old friends have gradually cut off the exchange, the family children and relatives may not be able to speak in tune with the hearing.

But this age group of elderly people, in the past a long time is to live a collective life, to the unit as a symbol of personal identity, once the loss of the "collective" label, the result is that they lost themselves, do not know who they are and what to do.

And square dancing and securities companies, as well as "dating corner", "chorus", "sunset red tour group" this low-cost but can get a sense of belonging to the group, just to help them fill this part. It helps them to fill the void of loneliness.

And most of the foreign women don't need to feel a sense of belonging, because they've had to deal with that for a long time.
