The Sea, My Hometown - Prose Poetry

I

//

The midsummer night of my childhood

The stars and the moon were as close as pickable fruits

But my grandmother couldn't tell me the color of my hometown in her wrinkled stories

//

The color of my hometown is hidden in the stars and the moon

When the lonely Chang'e was no longer lonely

People were surprised to see the color of my hometown in her tearful gaze

//

Adulthood. It was only through her tearful gaze

that people were shocked to see the color of their hometown

//

On the midsummer night of adulthood

the stars and the moon had shaken off the color of their hometown

so it was the color of the sea

//

So the sea, the sea, the sea

When people have exhausted all the gorgeous words

to praise you, you will be able to find the color of the sea.

//

The earth around you

Is drenched in all the blue light

The earth that floats for you

Has the sound of the slow tide that you cover

//

You're a mirror falling from the sky

With angels looking on it in all its glory

So that butterflies fly off from a plate of jasper

And the butterflies fly off from a plate of jasper

You're the mirror falling from the sky

With angels looking on you.

You are three sisters equal to the sky and the earth

The cradle of human thought

An immense spiritual pasture

//

How many expeditionary sails have been set by mankind's wandering footsteps

From ancient times to the present day

Just like the brilliant sunlight

Three

And how many times have you sailed on your way to the world?

Riding your waves with ease

Chasing and jumping on your waves

//

The wings of man's dreams

Flying from one shore to the other

How many poetic banishments have there been

Just like the bright moonlight

Gently caressing the ripples of your waves

Swaying on top of your waves

//

The romantic thoughts of mankind

fly from the sky to the earth

How many beautiful sentiments

Like the colorful clouds

that bravely fall into the heart of your waves

and change their colors in your folds

//

Four

///

You have separated yourself from the rest of the world, and you are the only one who has ever been in the world. //

You are a stage set by God

With tricks he commands the devil to perform

And props he arranges for the angels to use

Humans ? Brave? Humility

is the theme of his direction

//

For thou, with horrible tyranny

hast called forth the armor of a gladiator

and with a light too soft to penetrate

hast so wisely and so compassionately

taken the name of mankind's bravery

//

For thou art the Sphinx of mankind

and the Sphinx of the human race

. The Sphinx of mankind

And answered all the arrogance of mankind with the pride of a thousand years

So sublime, so tenderly

Took the name of mankind's humility

///

The hope gained through despair

The life gained through nine deaths

All through you, the sea

And all through the sea, the sea. You, the sea

Your fierce tyranny

Your black coldness

has gained divine revelation

//

And the breadth gained through narrowness

And the civilization gained through savagery

have all been gained through you, the sea

. --The sea

Thy boundless expanse

Thy blue tenderness

has gained human enlightenment

//

Six

//

Thou art a square of heavenly energy

Always surging with stirring passion.

Your generous power

shakes the weak

inspires the brave

//

How many of life's lost wanderings

have awakened to your boundlessness

and with your infinite expanse

you've lured people to distant shores

with your abyssal depths.

With the depth of your abyss

You lead men to the bottom of the mystery

In the midst of the boundlessness

You make them realize the smallness of their own selves

In the midst of their own selves

they realize the greatness of the Universe

//

The world is full of rocks and thorns

And you lift it up in the softest of ways

And you make them feel that they have been born by your presence.

Teach men to think of thee

To think of thee is sublime

Therefore, when I put my sorrows and joys into thy waves

In the midst of thy frightening vastness

Life seems to be lived not on the shore

But in the last moorings of the heart

Where the word "I" is not written. "

//

Seven

//

The sea, the sea

Why do men worship your color?

Because in that chaotic .

In the vastness of the sky

In the colorful river of stars

She used you, the sea

The soft blue of your turquoise water

The soft blue of your turquoise water

It is only then that it was solemnly marked out in the cosmos

The uniqueness of mankind's sharp, spiritual eyes

//

"The sea, the sea

Why does mankind worship your color?

"In the beginning, the heavens were empty and chaotic

and darkness was upon the face of the fathoms" (Genesis)

For in the darkness there was a blue eye

and from thence the heavens were no longer empty

and from thence the earth was no longer chaotic

for thou didst purify the earth by harboring its filth

and purifying it. The earth

And you have cleansed it of all its filth

You are the stage of life and the graveyard of death

The sky and the earth are clear because of you

Life and living are beautiful because of you

//

You are the beginning of the world and the end of the world in the future. The sea, the sea

See the spring come and go

Hear the tide rise and fall

Human beings have experienced the rise and fall of a hundred generations

The world has changed drastically

How much cruelty and bloodshed have you witnessed, and how much passion have you witnessed

How many vicissitudes of the world have you gone through, and how many great stories of the earth have you recorded

?

We look up to the heavens and ask you questions

And in the realm of our hearts we wonder

Who says that the answer to our questions is

Your eternal silence?

//

We touch your heart on the shore at sunset

We hear your heart in the sound of the broken sky

And you have opened up the language of wisdom to us with your hidden thoughts

You rolled down the thunder of anger from the sky

You tore up the crowning clouds from the corners of the earth

You You lift from the sea the sun and the moon

Yours is always old, always new

Yours is the answer, Yours is the answer

//

Nine

//

The sea, the sea

The sea, the sea

The sky lowers its lips to kiss the white waves of the sea

The earth stretches out its arms to embrace the vastness of the sea

//

The sea, the sea

The sea, the sea

The sea, the sea, the sea, the sea, the sea, the sea, the sea, the sea, the sea. //

But let me cover you with poetic songs

Your spiritual breadth is beyond my reach

For the heartfelt sensation you give

Between confusion and clarity

Between uncertainty and determination

I choose to fit in, which I can't refuse

//

But let me fly over you with poetic songs

But let me fly over you with poetic songs

//

But let me fly over you with poetic songs. But let me fly over your

Your spiritual heights that are beyond my reach

For the sails of thought that you have given me

Between sinking and rising

Between retreating and advancing

I insist on arriving at the other side of the shore of my ideals

//

TEN

//

In the mid-summer night of my childhood A Midsummer Night

The stars and moon are as close as the fruit you can pick

But Grandma can't tell the color of my hometown in her wrinkled stories

//

The color of my hometown is hidden in the stars and the moon

Midsummer Night in my adulthood

The stars and the moon have shaken off the color of my hometown

And so that's the color of the sea.
