They have two branches, which originate from the southern foothills of the Himalayas and Deccan Plateau, flow through Uttar Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Debon, culkin and West Bengal, and then enter Bangladesh, renamed Padma River, where they flow into the lower reaches of the Jamuna River of the Brahmaputra River and finally into the Bay of Bengal.
Ganges valley is one of the cradles of Indian civilization. It is not only the sacred river of Hinduism today, but also the place where Buddhism rose in the past, and there are still a large number of Buddhist holy places.

Situation of Ganges River Basin:
After crossing the Sevali Mountains, the Ganges River enters the plain near the ancient city of Hadwa and walks side by side with its famous tributary, the Zhu Mu River. When it reached Allahabad, it gathered together and the terrain dropped to 120m.
Because the Ganges River is sandy and muddy here, and the Zhu Mu Na River is deep and clear, the brown Ganges River and the blue Jumuna River form a very obvious waterline, and then gradually blend and mix. The Ganges River then flows to varanasi, the holy place of Indian religion, and gathers many tributaries (such as Gori River, Song He River, Gandak River, Gugeli River, etc. The river is wide and the water flows downstream.
After entering Bangladesh, it is called Padma (meaning Lotus) River, which is divided into several tributaries, joins the Great Ramaputra River, forms an "Ya" shape, and finally flows into the Bay of Bengal. The Ganges Delta, the largest delta in the world, was formed here. It covers an area of 56980km2, with low terrain and an altitude of only 10m.
With dense river network, fertile soil and developed agriculture, it is an important planting area of rice, wheat, corn, jute and sugarcane in the South Asian subcontinent. The Yarlung Zangbo River is about 2900 kilometers long, rich in water and extremely stable, with the Yarlung Zangbo River in the upper reaches. The mouth of the Ganges River is a large area of mangroves and swamps, called "Songdaban", which means "Fanglin" in Sanskrit.
