Aolei Ilan Lyrics

The lyrics of "Aolei Yilan" are as follows:

When I was a child, I heard my grandfather tell

a legend of the Daur people

A girl named Yilan

went to the battlefield at the age of eighteen

Behind her was the hometown that she loved

And the parents who couldn't rest easy

Remember the season when the flowers bloomed

Yilan put on her military uniform

I was on Molitava Mountain

welcoming the first light

smelling the fragrance of the red flowers of the mountains

The girl called Yilan at the bottom of the mountain

looked towards the sky

and in her heart, she thought of her hometown

If the invaders were killed, she would be able to go to the battlefield again and again, but she would not be able to do it again.

Singing the war song again

Lying over the Lena River below the mountain

When you grow up, do you still remember

The hillside where the red flowers bloomed

The evening sun reflecting on the river

Who has held you in his arms all these years

The moonlight on the walls of the city of Yaksha

Mukulian telling of your sorrow

When you grow up, do you still remember the sun on the river of Jingchiri

When you grow up, do you still remember the sun on the river of Jingchiri

When you grow up, do you still remember the sun on the river of Jingchiri? The sun on the banks of the Jingchili River

Yilan is still standing far away

I'm on Molitava Mountain

greeting the first beam of light

smelling the fragrance of the red flowers of the mountains

The girl called Yilan at the bottom of the mountain

looks toward the sky

thinking of home in my heart

If I kill the invaders

and sing the war song again. Love's Promise

If the Invaders are Killed Off

Then Sing the Battle Songs

Together We Will Honor the Promise of Love

Behind the Scenes of Production

"Ao Lei Yilan" is a costume war drama film made by the Shanghai Film Studio, and directed by Tang Xiaodan, starring Zhang Yuhong and Kou Zhenhai, which was released in 1979. It was released in theaters. The film tells the story of Aolei Yilan, who grew up from an innocent Daur girl to a heroine in the mid-17th century during the deadly struggle to defend her country from Russian invaders.

Director Tang Xiaodan believes that "Ao Lei Yilan" is a historical drama that cannot be treated as a comedy of life or a general family tragedy, although it includes that kind of elements in individual scenes, and it should represent the political and military struggles that took place hundreds of years ago across Europe and Asia and among several ethnic groups. In order to be able to authentically reproduce that period of history, he decided to use the camera to expose the tragic atrocities of Tsarist Russia and return history to its original colors.
