Jay Chou's details

Jay Chou

Jay Chou (周杰伦) (January 18, 1979 - ), nicknamed "Chou Dong" (周董) or "Jay Chou, the Little King of Heaven" (小天王周杰伦), is a singer-songwriter, composer, and lyricist from Taiwan (Taipei). He has largely elevated the status of lyricists and songwriters in the Chinese music industry, and Jay Chou himself is one of the most influential newcomers to Chinese music in the last five years, along with several other well-known Chinese producers such as Wang Leehom and David Tao. Jay's own compositions and vocals, most of which are lyricized by Fong, are more daring than the average pop song in that they venture into never-before-seen subjects, such as domestic violence in "I'm Back, Dad", martial arts in "Double-Cutting Stick", world history in "Love Before Western Era", environmental protection in "Terraces", and the paparazzi in "Chorus from All Sides", all of which have created an impact on the contemporary Chinese music scene. Some say Jay was influenced by Luo Dayou and the god of song, Jacky Cheung, and began to like and create pop music, and these two heavyweights of the Chinese music industry have invariably become Jay's enlightened teachers to enter the pop music world.

Jay Chou's musical style is also very diverse, with his specialties being rhythm and blues (R&B) and rap. His innovative use of Western classical music in his songs includes a Mozart sonata-style crossover in "Nunchucks" and a Gregorian chant at the beginning of "Blue Storm," as well as Chinese martial arts (e.g., "Nunchucks"). "Nunchucks", "Dragon Fist" and "Huo Yuanjia") or Chinese music (in "Niang Zi", the guitar for the In "Nyonya", the guitar in the scene is played with the rotating fingers of the pipa, and folk music instruments are used: "Chaos Dancing in Spring and Autumn" and "Hair Like Snow"). Jay's fusion of Chinese and Western music styles creates a fresh sound that is very different from mainstream Taiwanese music. Some of his songs include recordings of natural environments or everyday objects, which enhance the storytelling of the music (e.g., the chess game in "The General," the camera clicking in "Chorus from All Sides," the phone dialing in "Blue Storm," etc.). "Blue Storm", the sound of dialing a telephone, the sound of a ping-pong ball hitting the ground in "Class 3 and 2"). In terms of arrangement, his songs are rich in harmony: often the main theme, harmony, rap, and melody will be added layer by layer and faded out layer by layer at the end, which has a sense of hierarchy; the same melody is recorded and played on two tracks at the same time in the left and right ears, which has a three-dimensional chorus effect. His intentionally unclear vocals make the rap part of the song more rhythmic.

Jay Chou grew up with divorced parents and was raised by his mother with a lot of hard work.

When he was in elementary school, Jay was obsessed with music and showed amazing talent. His mother, who had been looking forward to his son's success, chipped in to buy a piano for him. "Playing the piano, he tapped into his potential and slowly built up his musical "capital".

After graduating from high school, Jay didn't go to college and had to work as a waiter in a restaurant, where he was scolded by his boss and had his paycheck deducted.

Then, by chance, Jay was "spotted" by Wu Zongxian, the boss of Taiwan's music industry, and entered Wu's company as a music production assistant. In the meantime, he kept writing songs, but the results were put aside by Wu, some even thrown into the paper basket in front of him.

Jay Chou was not discouraged, Wu was moved by his efforts and promised the singer to sing his songs. However, many famous singers are reluctant to show their voice, because the songs he wrote are too rare and odd One day, Wu threw him a chance: 10 days, write 50 songs, and then pick 10, sing them yourself and make an album. Finally, his first album came out and immediately became a sensation in the singing world. The second album, "Fantasia," which immediately followed, took the pop music world by storm again.

Bing Xin has a little poem: "The flower of success/people only admired her present bright color/but her buds/soaked with tears of struggle/spilled with blood of sacrifice! Jay Chou's journey to fame is not exactly the most graphic and vivid interpretation of this poem?

Work

1. Jay likes to take off his shirt and sit in the car in the sun between announcements.

2. Jay always play with the staff into a ball, usually free time will give them magic, playing cards, but also always lose publicity "Dingdong" body always let her lose weight

3. Jay work up, the whole person is very serious, sometimes and he talked to him, he is indifferent to, concentrate on music.

4. He does not like other people to disturb him when he records songs, so all secretly recorded, because he likes to give others musical surprises, to friends to listen to

when, will ask "dicks do not dicks?", and let everyone clap while the music is being played. and he'd make everyone listen to it while clapping.

5. When Jay helped COCO produce "Dagger Horse Dan", he called COCO "Miss COCO" from the beginning to the end, and only dared to call her "COCO" after he got acquainted with her.

6. Jielen is quite good at making up cell phone ringtones, and Taiwan singer Joyce Cheng's current cell phone ringtone is from his hand, and this is the second time that Jielen has created a ringtone for her. Of course, as a creative genius, Jay took her cell phone and pressed and pressed and pressed, and in less than 10 minutes, the wonderful music came out!

7. The first time to the United States to open the concert, Jay ran to the world-famous Vegas, of course, can not be exempted from the field to play a few, the interesting thing is that when he went to the gambling table, beside a group of dancers with the staff at the side of the dance cheer, lively and extraordinary, so that the casino banker returned to the group of them sideways, I do not know what is the head of the Jay Jay

29. Jay launched his latest EP, the second wave of the hit song "Broken". The second wave of the hit song "broken strings", Zhou will love the car painted into a small pink into the picture, so that fans are quite impressed, Jay Chou: "Today there is a handout, a lot of dust, but it is not intentional.

But after seeing the director borrowed a classic retro car, Zhou Dong immediately moved away from the small pink was immediately knocked out of the cold, Jay: "I want to say to the hippie road line, do not see this side of the car next to the car, I want to drive my car away.

Jay Chou: "Although I said I have to buy a car to make it look like a hippie, but still not *like* a black man, so dick, not Chen Jianzhou, is a black man in the United States."

This new favorite is considered a dream car, and Jay Chou is completely in love with it, but he has gone into a frenzy, but he has done something that has made the staff at the scene laugh wildly, the staff: "Sir, you don't have to close the windows on a convertible, okay?

In order to film the MV "Broken Chord", Jay Chou woke up at 4:00 a.m. to comb and make up, and the director didn't treat him poorly either. Following "In the Name of the Father" and "The Two Knives", he had a beautiful girl to play a rival role in the movie, as well as a beautiful woman in "The East Wind" and "Sunny Day", and this time the director arranged for a female protagonist with a look similar to that of "Cecilia Cheung", so that the two of them would play the role of "two young men without a child" in the MV, which is a great blessing for the two of them! In order to make the entire MV more watchable, the director designed a number of Jay Chou and the heroine to talk about love scenes, hoping that the two will be able to have a good love affair in the MV, but Jay Chou is shy by nature, in the case of "fear of birth", the performance of the tied up hands and feet of the completely no * play acting, so that the director often shouted card, Jay Chou decided to play games with the heroine outside the scene first, and it was the staff ridiculed "childish" "turtle turtle turtle", "childish". The game was ridiculed by the staff as "childish", "Turtle Turtle Touch". At the beginning of the game, Jay Chou has been winning, the female lead suffered from him, constantly being pinched ears and cheeks, and then the other side of the victory, fierce to Jay Chou's face pinched hard, Jay Chou laughed and said: "Girls are really not to be messed with! The staff beside him laughed and said, "How old are you, and you are still playing such a childish game?

30. When Jay released his album "Octave" the year before, he was featured on the cover of TIME Asia.

KATE, a white female reporter, spent three months communicating with the record company about the content of the story, interviewing and photographing him for a week.

In addition to photographing Jay's recreational activities such as basketball and video games, and his work in the recording studio recording songs and composing songs,

KATE also interviewed his teachers, classmates, friends, and Zhou's mother, who talked about Jay's upbringing, and went to the Danshuei Middle School to borrow a venue for an actual interview. The interviews were conducted at the Danshui Middle School. The content of the report is really exhaustive. While Jay's print interviews are always quick and efficient, he was impressed by the week-long interview with KATE, which not only took a lot of time to do its homework and learn about Jay's background, but also set a record for the most space ever given to a Chinese artist in the Asian edition of TIME, which featured Jay. What made Jay's jaw drop the most is that KATE also came down to play basketball with him, and the foreign girl reporter's superior ball skills caused him to have a reoccurrence of ankylosing spondylitis.

31. Singapore concert, Jay sang "bullfighting" when he had three basketballs to throw out to the audience, throw one of the time, Jay threw the wrong direction, straight line to the top, this time Jay was very nervous to put his hands over his head for fear that the basketballs will fall on his head, fortunately not, the ball bounced on the stage, the dance teacher to help him retrieve.

Music 1. "Lovely Woman" was originally made for Wu Zongxian to sing (originally, the words had been written by Xian, called "Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter", but Xian said it was not cool. The Ninja was originally intended to be sung by Zhang Huimei, but the result was that she found it unsuitable and returned it.

3. "Dad! I'm back" was originally intended to be sung by Kang Kang (the song was written with Fong Wen Shan and called "Shake My Horse", which was returned when it was handed over to Xian, and then it was written as "Dad! I'm Back" to Kang Kang. (He said sing up strange, not good sing and back)

4. "Indian old turtledove" is to see the Jackie Chan movie "Westfield Dragon" after writing (after watching the movie back with "black humor" lyrics written "Indian old turtledove" song out, and then the lyrics to draw out. (For Fong to write)

5. "The End of the World" was written immediately after a breakup (that day asked his girlfriend to come out to watch a movie, and then the woman came but brought another man with her, and then told Jay to break up)

6. "Orcs" was written out of a sudden inspiration after a trip to the bathroom

7. "Love in the West before the year began to be whispered Arrangement is Jay's own DEMO demo, and then the official arrangement came in, the second chorus after the C section is the recording of a sudden thought of the melody added,, the lyrics are Fong went to visit a museum exhibition after the feeling to write out ......

8. "Ninja" some simple Japanese is to watch the Japanese drama after

9. "Tea Brewed by Grandpa" was sung on the demo tape: "Tea brewed by Grandpa, hard to drink, but also to say good to drink"

10. "Shanghai 1943" was made on the demo tape and Jay thought of adding the sound of the old gramophone, but then he felt that someone else had used it before and didn't use it

11. "Castle William" was made on the demo tape and Jay thought of adding the sound of the old gramophone, but then he felt that someone had used it before and didn't use it

12. DEMO tape when Jay had already thought of vampire theme, with MIDI to make the organ, but also in front of the horse hooves and other sound effects, and finally "bullfighting" that part of the recording now added to the

12. "Quiet" is the second album of the creation of a song took the longest

13. "Split" is the third album of the creation of a song took the longest

13.

ps:So obviously the song that took the longest to write on the first album was "Black Humor".... Purely speculation

But Black Humor vs Quiet vs Split are all songs in the same key ...... It could also be said to be a brother song ......

Also Jay wrote the lyrics himself... ... are written about some of their own emotional problems ......

14. "Simple Love" is made with a guitar, which 6, 7 chorus are Jay's voice alone

15. concerts have been looking for their own schoolmates, especially can imitate his voice is very similar to the The first time I saw him was when he was a young man, and he was a young man who was a young man.

16. Jay's love for the piano is like a child of his age trying to eat ice cream. Chen Shiguang, his high school piano teacher, said that Jay had an overage knack for improvising when he was a teenager. 'Once, as soon as he sat down, he started playing the national anthem, which was supposed to be very serious, and he adapted it to make it fun, kind of like a pop version of the national anthem.'

17. His first published work was Wu Zongxian's Taiwanese-language song "Three All Nights and Three Days"

18. Before Jay became famous, he wrote a song called "Tears to Know", which was recommended by Wu Zongxian to Andy Lau. Andy Lau only glanced at the lyrics and shook his head, saying, "How can tears know, what do tears need to know?" He immediately rejected the song. Immediately rejected the song! He really didn't know the good stuff. In the end, it was given to Wen Lan to sing, and the result was awesome. Jay's song. Fong's lyrics. The song is included in Wen Lan's "A Little Wild" album

19. Jay and Fong's first collaborative release was written for Jiang Hui's "The Sound of Falling Rain. The lyrics are also very strong. Jay, who is also very stubborn about his music, said, "It's my feeling," and that he couldn't change what he was feeling at that moment, which gave Fong a hard time.

21. Jay admires Fong from the bottom of his heart! "Don't look at him like this, but he's actually a really cool weirdo! He's got a bunch of weird ideas in his head! For example, he wrote me three versions of 'Old Indian Turtle Dove', one of which was actually satirical and sarcastic. But then, after consideration, I thought, "I've got Eminem and Zhang Zhenyue doing the cursing, so I'll just go for the 'funny' route?

22. Fong revealed that there were actually two versions of the lyrics for the song Shanghai 1943, one was the "Shanghai" version and the other was a love song titled "no interest". Fong turned over the lyrics of "no interest", "I hate myself for falling in love with you without any interest, just to say that you are also here, just like this I love you without any reason, please believe that no one can replace you...". Speaking, he was embarrassed to say, "It's really too vulgar, and too many people write songs that talk about love like this, at first the company felt it was safer to write a love song, but Jay and I both felt it was better to have the Shanghai version."

23. "Love Cliff" song title was originally called: fall into the cliff

24. "You can hear" song title was originally called: dependence

25. "You can hear" left behind the ambush

Conscientious fans of the song will find that ...... "You can hear" at around 2:10 ,,is:Only you can hear ......

This line Jay has already explained on the radio is intentionally to mess with the effect, with the computer, that line is flipped over to sing

If someone listens to the CD upside down they will hear it,,

26. "Yeh Huei Mai" in the most time spent on supporting the singing of the A song: "Love Cliff"

27. "Three years class two" took the radio to say that the training office report that person is his friend (he is the younger brother of Siu Chung in SBDW) ...... and the most important thing is that that person again the first three albums have appeared ...... respectively ......

"Bullfighting": want to pick it, pick it ah~~

"Dad! I'm back": You go away~~

"Peninsula Iron Box": Miss~ please ask if there is a Peninsula Iron Box for sale~
