Creative background:
The song "Hometown" is included in the album "That Year". During the eight years of separation between husband and wife, Xu Wei has always vowed to his wife: "As long as I have money, I will buy a big house in Beijing immediately, take you to live and work in peace and contentment, and make good compensation for the loneliness and grievances you have endured alone in the past eight years." His wife, Yuan Feng, never asked him how to repay him, but just silently supported him as always. The writing period of "Hometown" was when Xu Wei struggled alone in Beijing, separated from his wife, with endless guilt and thoughts.
