The song was written by musician Ryu Shuang as a factual backdrop to honor the memory of unwavering love and people who have passed away unexpectedly.
The song was written by Liu Shuang against the backdrop of the story of Zhang Dequan (a pseudonym), an old man dancing alone in a dance hall, and his loss of his late wife in the 5 to 6 Daxinganling mega forest fire.In December 2019, Liu Shuang went to Mohe to pick up some winds, passed by a dance hall, and was attracted by the vintage music that was coming out of the hall, and at that time, he was curious about an old man dancing alone, and knew a very brief synopsis of his story. The old man's wife was killed in the 5:6 Daxinganling forest fire, and since then the old man has not remarried for decades and has no children, he often goes to the dance hall near the incident to dance and reminisce about his late wife who loved to dance. With his consent, Liu Shuang returned to Beijing and wrote a letter in the old man's voice, "Goodbye Evening Star" to his late wife, Kang. It took Liu Shuang two months to produce the demo and mix the master tape, in fact, the process of revising three or four versions, and finally settled on the expression he was most satisfied with, but also added a certain degree of literary imagination and fill in the details.
