The impression of Jiangnan is like a graceful woman, unhurried. The green stone road is full of history and cultural precipitation. When it comes to Hangzhou, it is almost a household name. When it comes to Qiandao Lake, at least 50% of Chinese people have heard of it, but when it comes to the Lion City, relatively few people know about it. The only impression of the Lion City comes from a set of pictures published by National Geographic of an ancient underwater city sleeping at the bottom of Qiandao Lake. Shockingly, many pagodas, houses and courtyard walls are still standing and not decaying. The sunlight through the water is like a Buddha's light covering them, lifelike and vivid.In 1959, for the construction of Xin'an River hydroelectric power station, the two ancient cities of Shicheng and Hecheng, as well as 27 townships, more than 1,000 villages, and 300,000 acres of good land were all sunk to the bottom of Qiandao Lake, and 290,000 people were relocated to other places. The ancient city of Shicheng, with a history of more than 1,000 years, is still sleeping at the bottom of Qiandao Lake.
We didn't have the chance to see you again, but luckily, in 2016, it was situated in Jiangjia Town, the closest town to the original site of the Lion City, with a total construction area of about 80,000 square meters. Wenyuan Lion City recreates the original appearance of the underwater thousand-year-old Lion City, showcasing all the culture of the ancient city, such as traditional handicrafts, non-legacy programs, folklore and festivals. Here, you can see Thousand Island Lake in one bay or eat it in one dish.
Early in the morning, knock on the door of Quiwen Pagoda, climb to the top of the pagoda, Thousand Island Lake as far as the eye can see. There are thousands of people staging the blessing ceremony, majestic dukes and graceful noblewomen. The blessing ceremony begins at the East Street gate with three pillars of incense topping the sky. Then you'll parade along Wenyuan Lion City's East Street to the North Gate, where courtesans will scatter rice to signify the exorcism of evil spirits. An exorcism and blessing ceremony is held in front of the pagoda in the North Square. Tianshi Zhong Kui staged a domineering five-poison beheading, and palace maidens performed a flag-raising dance, recreating the ancient Dragon Boat Festival Prayer for Blessing Ceremony extravaganza. The tribute on the incense platform is also a complete sample of the ancient rituals, with the large pig's head being particularly conspicuous. Painting foreheads, the custom of smearing children's foreheads with andrographis at the Dragon Boat Festival, where the clouds can drive away poisonous insects. Typical method is to use andrography to draw the word "king" on the child's forehead. A kind of andrography is used to drive away poison, and a kind of tiger ("Wang" is shaped like a tiger's forehead, and the tiger is the king of all beasts, so it is used instead of the tiger) is used to ward off evil spirits. In 2011, the Suian Customs Town of Jiangjia was built. In order to reproduce the submerged ancient city of Suian, Jiangjia Town built the Lion City Museum, where the Quiwen Pagoda is reproduced in 1:1 scale. On the first night, I visited the Quiwen Pagoda. It was already too late. The door of the tower was closed, but the Quiwen Tower at night was even more conspicuous in the light.
I went back the next morning. Originally, the Quivon Tower didn't open until 8:30am. The uncle of the Lion City Museum under the tower heard that I came from afar and opened the door for me in advance. Quiwen Tower facing Qiandao Lake, backed by Baiqin Lake, climbed the tower. There is nothing unusual about the dishes, we see them almost every day, but their significance lies in the heart and gratitude behind them. One midday in early May, when everyone was spouting off about eating braised fish heads in the cafeteria, I don't know who suggested that we form a group to go to Changtan Reservoir to eat fish heads, and the idea of going out to eat fish heads in a group took root in our group.
A few days later, the department's labor union released the first half of the tour route, one of which is Qiandao Lake. In order to eat delicious fish head, our group of eight people hit it off and signed up for Qiandao Lake.
In the travel agency's bus sat for more than five hours, the car began to complain "how not yet arrived", "the sea is a lot of small islands," a childish voice from the front row to my ears in the back seat. Forest Oxygen Bar is located in the southeast lake area of Qiandao Lake. When we arrived at the scenic spot, the first thing we saw was the door plaque of "Qiandao Lake Forest Oxygen Bar" built with wooden stakes. The wood-colored boards and green lettering complement the attractions behind it.
Entering the scenic spot, you feel like you are in a mini forest. Trees in the scenic area are lush and green, pavilions are strewn about, and small stone bridges are nestled with streams that sometimes meander and sometimes dart down. Although it is a hot June in Jiangnan, in the scenic area, the oxygen bar seems to have its own refrigeration function, making people feel especially cool. Approaching the stream, countless negative oxygen ions blew in our faces. No wonder the children traveling with us said, "The air here is so sweet". To this day, I can still hear the sound of the stream flowing in my ears when I look at photos and write my travel notes.
When you are tired of walking, you can take a nap on the stone benches by the roadside or in the tea house. You can also choose to walk, grass slide or slide when going downhill. Of course, the latter two are paid for.

2. Wenyuan Lion City

History records: Lion City is named after Wushishan Mountain in the north of Suian County. The city was once the hub of the Huizhou merchant road on the Xin'an River, and was known as the "Little Heavenly Palace in Western Zhejiang.
In 1959, in order to build the largest water conservancy project at that time - Xin'an River hydroelectric power station, Xin'an River cut off, Chun'an County, Su'an County began to store water. From then on Lion City and Crane City sank to the bottom of Qiandao Lake. The 1,078 small islands on Qiandao Lake are the exposed peaks of the mountains that were submerged at that time.
To commemorate the ancient Lion City, Yu Nianchun visited many of the old people who moved away in the first place, and restored the original appearance of the ancient Lion City by combining the ancient city information and divers' underwater inspection. Today, the original model of the ancient city is placed in the Lion City Museum. The ancient city under the lake found by divers is said to be intact. In the near future, we may be able to visit the 1959 ancient city under the lake, and the original residents of the Lion City who moved out may still be able to find their homes by memory.

By the side of the museum, the original ancient city, with its white walls and black tiles of Huizhou-style buildings, was rebuilt on the old site. We are still under construction in the past, and it is estimated that it will be open to the public in the second half of the year.

3. Longchuan Bay
After strolling through the Lion City, we went to a nearby pier and took a ferry to the Longchuan Bay scenic spot on the other side of the river. The ferry will take tourists around the lake and then drop them off at the pier on the other side.

Longchuanwan is located in the southwestern lake area of Qiandao Lake, which has not yet been fully developed, and is far away from Qiandao Lake town, so it is quieter with fewer tourists.
From the pier to the scenic spot, you can choose to walk along the winding mountain road along the lake, or take the free battery car. Of course, when you're tired, you can also stop a passing battery car.

You don't need to ride a bike on the greenway once you get to Qiandao Lake, so our guide arranged a greenway ride for us on the third and final day of our trip.

Qiandao Lake is known as "China's most beautiful cycling resort", where the four colors of red, green, yellow, and blue represent spring, summer, autumn, and winter, and a cycling path has been built around the lake. There are many bicycle rental points along the greenway, and every 10 or 20 kilometers there are post stations, observation decks, teahouses and other supporting services.
The whole greenway is more than 160 kilometers long, and we chose a small section of it. Riding a bicycle, facing the breeze, looking at the lake and mountains, wholeheartedly weaving in nature.
Third, eat in Qiandao Lake
The specialty of Qiandao Lake is fish head. How can we not eat it when we arrive? What's more, we came here for the fish head. We had plenty of time for dinner, so we chose to eat alone.
The most famous fish farm in Qiandao Lake, not only out of the famous expensive (fish head 688 yuan), but also not ranked. The good thing is that Xiushui Square, including Jiangjiazhen, where the Lion City is located, are all fish-flavored restaurants. We chose the crowded restaurant and ordered the fish head and other side dishes. One of them came across a fat fish of nearly 12 pounds in Xiushui Square and asked the owner to make one fish and eat three. The deliciousness of the fish head can't be expressed in words.
