Where is the ancient city of Loulan?
The ancient property market is located in the west of Lop Nur, Ruoqiang County, Bayinguoleng Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture. It is the hub of the western regions and occupies an extremely important position on the ancient Silk Road. According to Biography of Dawan in Historical Records and Biography of Western Regions in Hanshu, Loulan was a famous "country of one city" in the western regions as early as the 2nd century AD.
1900, Sven Hedin led a Swedish expedition to Lop Nur, but accidentally discovered the ancient city of Loulan. The existing Loulan site is roughly square, with a wall of 330 meters on each side, and the urban area is 1.5438+0 square kilometers. There are also broken courtyards and towering pagodas in the city. Many ancient cultural relics, including various vessels and coins, have been discovered in Loulan ancient city, among which the most precious is the manuscript of the Warring States policy of the Jin Dynasty.
Loulan Kingdom has a history of more than 800 years from its establishment in BC 176 to its demise in AD 630. Loulan has always been an important transportation hub from the mainland to the western regions. Later, Loulan was rarely seen in historical records and gradually disappeared mysteriously. The disappearance of Loulan Kingdom remains a mystery. More than 10 walls around the ancient city of Lan have collapsed, leaving only intermittent walls standing alone. The panoramic view of Loulan site is simple and dignified, and the dilapidated architectural relics in the city are lifeless, which is particularly desolate and tragic.
