Far away under the blue sky, the golden wheat waves are the lyrics of the song "Wind Blows the Wheat Waves".
"Wind Blows the Wheat Waves" is a song written, composed and sung by Li Jian and arranged by Zhao Zhao. The song was first included in Li Jian's solo album Missing You, released in 2007, and then in Li Jian's solo album Gathering Light in 2013. The song is the ending song of the TV series "War of Women".
Lyrics: In the distance, under the azure sky, surging golden waves of wheat.
Just there was where you and I, loved.
When the breeze carries the flavor of harvest, blowing towards my face.
Remembering your soft words that once wet my eyes.
We used to sing in the fields and hope in the winter.
But couldn't wait for the sunshine, this fall scene.
Let the vows that were once made fly, drifting with the west wind.
Just like your soft long hair, once perfumed my dreamland.
Background of the creation of "Wind Blows the Wheat Waves"
In 2007, Li Jian wrote the song and released it on the album "Missing You", and the song was reworked in 2012. Li Jian said it was a simple and romantic song, so he strove for aesthetics in the arrangement and borrowed from movie soundtracks in terms of style. The harp used in it came from Italy, a really good one, and the studio temperature was very low at the time.
To give the harp its best sound, the players kept it warm. The string quintet is from the National Symphony Orchestra, and in 2007, Li Jian won the Best Lyricist Award at the 2007 Beijing Pop Music Ceremony for the song, while arranger Zhao Zhao won the Best Arranger Award at the 25th Taiwan Golden Melody Awards for the song in 2014.
