After the start of the Anti-Japanese War, Wang Ping was sent to Fuping, Hebei Province, as the governor of Fuping County in China***, to organize and develop the Anti-Japanese Volunteer Army. In 1939, the two got married in Fuping. Wang Ping was 32 and Fan Jingxin was 20. By the time Wang Ping died in 1998, they had spent 59 years together.
Fan Jingxin, the second oldest member of the Fan family and a cheerful and generous girl, was 19 when her sister said she wanted to introduce her to a date. The man was Wang Zonghuai, director of the political department of the third division of the Jinchahi military region. He was 26 years old and a colleague of Wang Ping.
That day, Fan Jingming went to his sister's house and saw a young man talking to his brother-in-law. He suddenly realized what was going on and felt a bit embarrassed.
