Information: Initial study of Grade 9 to 10 repertoire
Choose the latest version of the China Music Association Amateur Examination Standard Textbook Book 3 (Grade 9-10) as the textbook, and buy the vcd. Starting with Rode, familiarize yourself with each piece, and practice it according to the textbook, one by one. Starting with Liang Zhu, going through Paganini, and finally to The Wanderer, this section will enter the intermediate and advanced stages of violin technique. For adult amateurs who are in their third year of study, don't ask too much of yourself. Of course there are a lot of pieces here that aren't very difficult, but most of them require a bit of work. Just walk through the too difficult pieces a couple of times roughly, and know what all the famous stuff is about. Time yourself just 1 year. Think of it as just a higher level music literacy class.
After all this practice, you'll be able to appreciate the playing of some of the master violinists. You'll also be able to identify your own technical and artistic deficiencies, and orient yourself as to how far you can really go with the violin in this lifetime. Your mystique of the violin is gone, but you will truly be in awe of the art of the violin. That is, at a high level back to the mindset you had when you couldn't play the violin. If you want to break new ground, then throw away the idea of quick fixes and quick fix materials and go back to practicing professionally and classical practice pieces. If you want to get to the point where you can pull it off, and you can't say you can pull it off yet, expect it to take at least 3 more years. By this time, you will already be quite self-conscious and approach the boring stuff with interest. Because you have a clear goal in mind.
You may say, if I had known that I would have to study so much according to my specialty in order to reach the top, why would I want a crash course. My understanding is that adults who start out practicing professional material in a professional manner generally don't go anywhere. This is because your musical foundation may not be very good, your time is limited, and you don't have that much energy to engage in something that has no real benefit. Problems of making a living, family chores, and career growth don't allow you to waste much energy or time. The only way to succeed is to start out with a rest and play mentality, to get started quickly, to keep experiencing a little sense of accomplishment, to turn overcoming difficulties into a kind of self-consciousness, and to pay attention to macro grasping and rigor of details. Also reaching the top may not be our goal, we adults can have many limitations. For example, switching finger octaves, 10th doubling, etc. can be very laborious to practice. That's something we can't compare to kids who have been practicing since they were little. We also don't practice a technique that requires us to overcome physical difficulties for two notes in a piece of music. Of course I'm talking in general, there are always exceptions.
