Why "Gangnam Style" can sweep the United States, but "Little Apple" can not!

The two songs have a lot of **** in common - the chorus is so catchy and the beat is so silly that you can learn it without even wanting to hear it; it's a full-on assault on listeners of all ages, and it's been the subject of countless discussions and hilarious/copycat/adapted versions. It's just that, while Bird has really made waves all over the world, Little Apple hasn't yet penetrated beyond its borders - it's more like hand-waving on its own turf. As far as music is concerned, the arrangement and production of "Gangnam Style" is still as popular as the mainstream, while "Little Apple's" outdated disco sound, rigid rhythm and kindergarten-quality vocals can only make people think of grandmothers dancing in squares. Just look at the reaction of the audience when Uncle Bird performed at the 2012 National Music Awards, and the contrast with the Chopsticks Brothers is so obvious - "Little Apple" is quite enjoyable to listen to, but it can only make a portion of the people happy.
