The difference between rural credit cooperatives and rural commercial banks;
First, the nature is different.
Rural commercial banks are regional financial institutions of joint-stock companies, and rural credit cooperatives are local financial institutions of joint-stock cooperative enterprises.
Second, the promoters are different.
1. Rural commercial banks are joint-stock local financial institutions composed of farmers, rural industrial and commercial households, enterprise legal persons and other economic organizations within their jurisdiction. At present, enterprises with certain strength are generally established.
2. Rural credit cooperatives are joint-stock local financial institutions composed of farmers, rural industrial and commercial households, enterprise legal persons and other economic organizations.
Third, different management methods.
Credit cooperatives implement democratic management of members, and rural commercial banks take shareholders' meeting as the highest management institution.
Fourth, different regulatory agencies.
Commercial banks are mainly supervised by the China Banking Regulatory Commission, and credit cooperatives, as sponsors of provincial associations, are mainly supervised by provincial associations.
5. Different business models
1. Rural commercial banks as a whole aim at the profitability of the whole bank, and each branch is directly managed by the head office.
2. Rural credit cooperatives operate independently under the guidance of the Provincial Association, and each rural credit cooperative is an independent legal person, responsible for its own profits and losses. The provincial association can manage and understand the development of credit cooperatives, but it cannot interfere with the business of credit cooperatives.
Sixth, the service targets are different.
1. Credit cooperatives mainly provide financial services to members, mainly serving farmers, and the main service area is in rural areas.
2. The rural commercial bank is a regional financial institution, which, like other banking institutions, serves a wide range of customers. Customer groups can be rural areas, cities, enterprises and individuals.
