On July 23, 2006, the large-scale live performance Impression Lijiang Snow Mountain was finally officially staged at Ganhaizi Blue Moon Valley Theater in Yulong Snow Mountain, Lijiang, Yunnan, which is the highest live performance theater in the world at an altitude of 3 100 meters. On that day, the chief directors of the live performance, Zhang Yimou, Wang Chaoge and Fan Yue, all members of the director group, leaders of Yunnan Province and Lijiang City, and more than 65,438,000 media from all over the world gathered here to witness the grand occasion of the live performance of Impression of Lijiang Snow Mountain.
Impression Lijiang is a freehand performance with Yulong Snow Mountain as the background, absorbing the aura of heaven and earth, taking the achievements of nature and folk culture as the carrier. The performance is divided into six parts: caravan on the ancient road, Duijiu Snow Mountain, heaven and earth, dance music, encouragement to worship heaven and blessing ceremony. Although there is no theme or specific story in the performance, through the directors' experience and understanding of Lijiang and Snow Mountain, the dialogue between the mountain and life, history and ancestors is expressed by dancing, singing, performing and praying, which makes people feel a primitive and natural power.
