The original singer of The Moon is Full of Western Buildings is An Wen.
"Moon Over the West Tower" is a song sung by An Wen, based on the lyrics of "A Scissor of Plums, Red Lotus Roots and Jade Woven Woven Woven Autumn" by Song Dynasty lyricist Li Qingzhao, with music composed by Su Yue. The song was released in 1989 and was included in the album Thinking of You Always in the Rainy Season in 1994.
Anwen, formerly known as Zhang Jinglin, was born on May 25, 1968, in Tianjin, China, and graduated from the Central Academy of Drama. 1988, she went to Japan with Su Yue to study at Waseda University, where she engaged in comparative studies of Peking Opera and Opera. 1994, she returned to China from Japan and sang the song "The Moonlight is Full in the West Tower", restarting her acting career as a singer.
Anwen's Personal Evaluation
Anwen was born in Tianjin to a family of scholars and readers for generations, and grew up reading, practicing calligraphy, and learning music until she was ten years old. When she was ten years old, the Academy of Opera was recruiting students in Tianjin, and Anwen accompanied her second sister, who was applying for the exam, to go with her. Only ten years old, she came to Beijing alone to study with master Zhang Junqiu.
Anwen was the most fashionable girl in the cast of the 87th edition of "Dream of Red Mansions," and she was so perceptive that she was able to get through almost all the scenes. After the TV series "Dream of Red Mansions" was broadcast, the quirky character "Qingwen" made people recognize actress An Wen. In the following 20 years, she went from being an actress to a singer, and then completely changed to the backstage, and finally disappeared from people's view.
