Approved by Shanxi Human Resources Research and Development Center of Shanxi Academy of Social Sciences, Daguai Bay of the Yellow River, located in Xinguan Town, shilou county, is known as "the first bay of the Yellow River in the world".
The Yellow River flows through 9 provinces and regions, with a total length of 5,464 kilometers. In the Shanxi-Shaanxi Gorge, the Yellow River runs in the north-south direction as a whole, but in the middle and lower part of the Shanxi-Shaanxi Gorge, there is a big bend bay, which suddenly turns eastward and becomes a very strange great circle bay, almost in a "full stop" shape. Overlooking the bay, the west is narrow and the east is wide, and the tail is perfect, just like a gourd. The total distance between the inlet and outlet of the bay is 8000m, and the inlet and outlet of the bay is the narrowest, only 700m, and the widest 1700m. No matter from the sequence, volume or curvature, the Yellow River Bay in shilou county can be called "the first Yellow River Bay".
