Yao Surong sang more than 220 songs in succession, of which 80 to 90 songs were banned, including "The Heartless Man" and "Won't Go Home Today".

The reason is that this cover of a Japanese song has resentful and vulgar lyrics, which has a negative impact on people's hearts.
In August 1958, Yao Su-rong was invited by Kaohsiung Jindu Yuefu to sing there for a month and was paid NT$60,000. At that time, the tuition fee for private universities was only 3,000 yuan. Yao Surong was warmly welcomed by fans in Kaohsiung. Fans asked her to sing "The Heartless Man" at almost every performance. Yao Surong always apologizes politely to her fans, saying that the song has been banned and she cannot violate the rules.
However, the enthusiasm of the fans was so touching that Yao Surong couldn't let it go. Finally, she couldn't help but sing this forbidden song loudly on August 16, and the audience in the room cheered in unison. Unexpectedly, someone reported to the police that Yao Surong was singing forbidden songs in the karaoke hall. On August 19, Yao Surong was singing "Heartless Man" without emotion on the stage when she was suddenly called off the stage by the police from the former Jinfen Station and asked to go to the police station to take notes. The entire karaoke hall was in an uproar, watching helplessly as Yao Surong was taken away. As a result, Yao Surong's singing certificate was confiscated, and in the end Yao had to sing overseas.
In 1967, Yao Surong won the reputation of the "Queen of Tears" with her song "Autumn Water Beauty". However, "I'm Not Going Home Today" was very special and was both modern at the time. The song has a sense of traditional charm (the song uses Henan Bangzi singing method), allowing her to open up a new and more popular singing path. The success of "I'm Not Going Home Today" is an affirmation of positive innovation for both composers Zuo Hongyuan and Yao Surong. In addition to this theme song, the episode "Dream Seekers" was also quite popular at the time. Based on the tacit understanding of cooperation, their master and apprentice later collaborated on many songs called "Yao School Singing" (~"Shouting and Shouting").
